The Hub Forums Upgrade - *PLS READ*
*IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT*
A major upgrade to the hub is scheduled in the coming week. Please read on:
A quick FAQ:
Q. Why are you doing this?
The Hub has been running on PHPBB2 platform - a free software - for more than 6 years now. But, over these years, the hub has grown by leaps and bounds (close to 190K registrations). Plus, phpbb2 is now obsolete and no longer supported. To meet the growing demand in the long run, we have decided to move to vbulletin4 - a popular commercial software adopted by large forum communities worldwide.
Q. When are you going to upgrade?
During the coming week. You'll be informed. Pls check
the top banner messages.
Q. What does it mean to me? Do I need to learn to post, start a thread, etc?
No. Basically you'll have the same look n feel viewing/posting.
Q. Ok, what happens to my username, posts?
Your login/password will remain the same. Upgrade will bring over everything from current forums.
Q. What's new we can expect?
* Attachments: you'll be able to add images/docs to your posts
* much better pm box, user panel,etc.
* facebook integration
* some other possible new features: photo albums, calendar,etc.
* and more..
Q. I'm curious. Can I try it out?
We don't have a preview yet, but see here to get an idea:

*** ANNOUNCEMENT ***
The upgrade is scheduled tomorrow Feb 1st, 4AM (IST). It is expected to last about 7 hours. Yes, it is that long! During this period, hub forums will not be available. You will see a message like "Sorry, but this board is currently unavailable. " Pls be patient. After the upgrade is done, you'll see a link to the new forums. It should happen around this time tomorrow.
Here's the plan:
T = Feb 1, 4AM IST
* At T+0hrs, the forum is closed.
* During T+0 to T+7hrs, upgrading process goes on..
* At T+7hrs, New forums are ready. A link to this site added on the current phpBB (current) forums.
* You jump in, and start 'hubbing fun' on the new site ..
IMPORTANT: In case you haven't, pls try exploring the vbulletin.com links I posted above ASAP. For most of you, hubbing on new site should be a seamless experience (this is based on our beta testing with selected hubbers), but for some of you, it may need a little getting used to. So I strongly suggest you try it before the upgrading happens, and be prepared. Or, at least try to do this during the downtime (4AM-11AM) tomorrow.
Disclaimer: Please note that
i) 7 hrs is a rough estimate. It may take longer.
ii) There will be some inevitable hiccups, please bear with me! Thanks..

Welcome to the Revamped Hub!
Hi Hubbers.. Happy to report that the 'hub'grade is done and we have migrated almost everything successfully..!
A warm welcome to you all to this new platform.. So, what's changed? Pretty much nothing for you as the user. Your username, avatar, posts, threads remain the same, so do the viewing & posting processes. So basically it's same as our beloved Hub. But the backend has changed completely to a more robust platform with a lot of new features:
* add attachment to pm,post,thread
* post images/youtube in a jiffy
* your own user panel with album, calendar,etc.
* and lot more..
I'll let you enjoy exploring. However, note that the ground rules still remain the same. No offensive posts or personal attacks!
In particular, no abuse of 'post image/video' feature will be tolerated. If things really go overboard, we may have to disable it completely. We really want to give you the maximum set of features, so pls let us. Thanks..!
I realise that some of you may have problems migrating to the new version. This is expected, and not all of us can make the switch overnight. But we are here to help. Please post your questions & problems in the troubleshooting forum here:

Happy Hubbing..!
