talking about box office status alone, he has untouchable blockbuster like dasavatharam.
I mean making a film blockbuster when there is nobody as big as the lead character and no others the No.1 in respective fields.

exactly! en inam allava nee, appadi thaan iruppai! in Dasa, it was really only Kamal. Even though Ks Ravi is good, he is not the best. Dsp and Himesh for music?! It was basically down to Kamal to make it work, and he made it a history-rewriting blockbuster! namma surya, yaaroda thayvum illama hit kodukka mudiyuma? its always due to excellent directors, musi directors, screenplay writers, co stars and all. no one can name a movie that worked soley because of him. intha singam-surya kadupethurar my lord!

Btw I rekost you to stay away from this thread unless you're here to discuss fav. scenes/songs/movies of the man. If you want him to sign up for a retirement plan, you'd do better to voice it in the main thread for Kamal called 'news & updates'. Until then,

kid!!!
is that jus for fun or?

A couple of years ago me and my other friend were discussing on how Kamal uses his body language. He was particularly referring to Kuruthi punal and especially the scene before the Minister's assasination. In This particular scene in Kamal for a minute or so instructs Kamal instructs his subordinates just by hand gestures. Very subtle.
Thank God Tamil Cinema had Kamal Haasan. I don't know about others but I am very glad that he is working in Tamil Films. Hope he gives us more of his direct films.

Thanks for the link AF... Excellent sequence.. very gripping film. While watching this movie in theatre, I was feeling some kind of nervousness throughout.. Unique, great experience...

"We hear that Sonakshi is in Chandi-garh currently shooting for Shirish Kunder's Joker with Akshay Kumar and will shortly receive a story narration from director Selvaraghavan. Our source says, "Kamal Sir is doing a film that is reportedly inspired by Sir Anthony Hopkins' Hannibal. Since Sonakshi's acting talents in Dabangg have been applauded, Kamal is keen to have her in the role essayed by Julianne Moore."
Our source also specifies, "The film is being adapted to suit the Indian palette and though the film is being made in Tamil, it will in all likelihood be dubbed in Telugu and Hindi also."

Unfortunately, I lost the mag in my move back to Malaysia. Plum. Here's what I can recall:
1. I equated Indian Tata's makeup to those creatures in Star Trek, and in particular Suganya's to Star Trek: Babylon. This was before I knew that Westmore was involved.
2. The movie is like glossy current potato chips packages, 30% chips, 70% air.
3. Kamal Jr is the only realistic, believable character. The girls can go to hell.
4. Koundamani/Senthil combo is like the cars during traffic jam (really, I said something to that effect, as there were too many of them in films those days. I regret that. I shall be condemned forever).
5. Criticised the p!ss poor computer graphics.
6. Fantastic songs.
7. As senior, Kamal was acting his pants off, only it was blocked forever by the thick makeup. You can see only his eyes performing, which is not bad, but he's not Sivaji Ganesan.
8. Ending hinted sequel, I dreaded hoping that day will never come. Of course, I was an idiot, Shankar gave us Anniyan.
