V_S - very innovative and fresh sounding gowrimanohari....a classic in the lines of 'pon vaanam panneer thoovudhu..." The magic to watch for is see how free flowing the raga usage is......It is as if Raja had come up with the melody first and incidentally it falls into the gowrimanohari structure....so much of naturalness and ease in the design of the melody and apt use of the scale...this is where IR is just unbeatable.....Other MDs doing Carnatic melodies should see how IR, MSV etc made it look so free flowing and not forced and artificial melodies...
Usha, madhyamavathi / Brindhavana saranga family.....ask your mom, she will know better

Why MSV is called mellisai mannar? This song grammatically is set in Behag....but so much hummable...a philosophy that raaja uses in all his songs

ok whenever i listen info on MSV ragas in any raga based program on tv, radio, i will share it here
recently i heard - happy and sad natabhairavis - chittukuruvi mutham koduthu and ninaikka therindha manamae unakku marakka theriyaadha.....
