Has any other singer straddled so many languages industries as royally ever? She is royalty in every industry she works in (which straddles all southie and bollywood and bengali and marathi). (We cant say that of SPB and KJY in Hindi, although they ruled the 4 southern industries - even there KJY in Telugu and SPB in Malayalam had to play second fiddle)

Different Generations can not be compared, SPB + KJY never enjoyed a "Technology" feat as the new generation, for example , SPB and KJY had to be physically present in a recording studio, to record a song and one can imagine, how hard it would have been for them to be in different parts of India to record songs! These days, you can record a song through your PC and send it via email to the composer to finish off the tune, this trend was invented by none other than ARR

Very true! BTW Like Ghantasala was the King in Telugu before SPB who was the predecessor to KJY in Malayalam??

Paramu, wrong on multiple counts.
1. Singers HAVE to be present. Just that they can record portions of songs on one take unlike the 80s.
2. Technology, yes. Why don't they prefer say a Harini or a Sunidhi Chauhan? Shreya Ghoshal-E venumnnu yEn kekkuraanga? And we have so many singers these days...
-----------
Recent favorite: Thedi vandha dhevadhaiya - Ponnar Shankar. The difference between her and the average sounding Kunal G is unbelievable.

I heard / Read some where that, While ARR was in London, he requested SPB to record a song from his PC and email the song to him, he then completed the BGM for the tune. If I remember correctly it was for either "Puthiya manitha" or "balle lakka balle laka" .

You have misunderstood me, I was not doubting her talents (In fact I am a fan of her for her voice and looks
) , I was just answering Plum's Question
