GM starts with the KACHERI...
GM: சிந்தனை செய் மனமே... செய்தால் தீவினை அகன்றிடுமே ... சிவகாமி மகனை ஷண்முகனை .. சிந்தனை செய் மனமே..
(gets so much involved in the song as he fails to notice the almost empty hall)

A typical carnatic audience... requests the Bhagawathar to sing a song in "KALYAANI" Raagam ..
GM:வாங்க (gets terrified for a moment, calls him to the stage)
GM: என்னங்க (covers the MIKE with his hands)
Fan: கல்யாணி ராகத்துல ஒரு பட்டு பாடுங்க
GM: டேய் ஞான சூனியம் .. இப்ப பாடுறதே கல்யாணி ராகம்தான்... உனக்கு கச்சேரி கேக்குறதுக்கெல்லாம் ஏதுடா நேரம்.... பாபு கார்ன் (pop-corn) திங்குறதுக்கெல்லாம் ஒரு சபா அதுல நீ ஒரு member .. ஒழுங்கா ஓடிபோயிறு இல்ல MIKE-ah எடுத்தே அடிச்சுபுடுவேன் ... GM somehow gets conviced by his troop members to sing kacheris after getting drunk
கலைஞனும் வெத்தலையும் ஒன்னு... அடிக்கடி தண்ணியில இருக்கணும்.. இல்லாட்டி வாடி போயிரும்

After few rounds of Liquor.....Annan Gets started with a சங்கீத சிரிப்பு ... continues yethifying "SRUDHI"..
Unfortunately.. he gets a good crowd for that kacheri... and gets beaten up by the enraged crowd !!

SMI, indha maadhiri Annan-oda pre-acting, roots pathina info-llaam inge adikkadi podunga. Lot of fans (like me) are not really aware of this side of Annan.

Yes Sir as far as my knowledge goes. Let’s put it the other way. We start with singers who have done more comical songs. Those days IOKS had an half an hour afternoon program called nagaichuvai paadalgal (weekly?). The singers mostly featured in were AL Raghavan, Chandra Babu and Manorama. Few TMS songs (like Muthu Kulikka vareeyaLaa) did get featured. The other recent ones during that time include aattukutti muttayittu and that wonderful SPB song for SuruLi – konjam odhungu (farams – theriyumaa?). No inspiration for GM so far. Actors like Thangavelu, MR Radha or Nagesh or not known singers in the movies (enakku therindha varai). SuruLi had that highly famous villup paattu - maatta kaRandhaa masaalaappaalu – not sure if he sung that, but was in a different range. Lets also take the case of occasional cine (high pitch) singers like Nagore Haniffa or Shaik Mohamed (kai kotti sirippargaL, Odugira vaNdi Oda etc.). Here again I don’t see any resemblance. The only thing I am not sure is 40s and 50s – MKTB, PUC, TRM, Kittappa etc. Those people who can write about this (like Mani Sir, Sudhama, Rajraj etc.) do not come here. If TFML is around he can help. But check the below links on how aNNan makes his own song out of a 50s one.
