I found one shortcoming with VJ ??

I didnt find her coming out with good numbers on folk or village type songs..... More of a traditional type like KJY...

Especially one song.. .which I feel she could have avoided....

Muthu mala mela mullapoo maala......... etc etc... Dont remember the movie and song.... but was analysed threadbare during those days and was severely criticised.

Ok... there was one song....

Aala marathu kileee, aala paarthu pesum kilee..

Probably Shankar Ganesh....

Other than that I dont remember any VJ hit of village type songs.

was listening to vaasam veesum vaana cholai from poo poova poothirukku today morning after a long gap.

"aananthathin ellaikku naan sendren" - intha vaarthaigalai VJ paada ketkum pothu, really, manasukkul Etho anandam adaivathu pola thaan irukku - such is her uchcharippu and baavam and voice

I think it was composed by Shyam ........ SPB with VJ....

KB's 'Thappu Thaalangal' was composed by Vijaya Basker, who composed more for VCGughanathan's films (like Petha manam piththu, Kanimuthu papa, Engamma Sabatham etc...

But he is no more with us. We lost him about 18 months before.

KB's 'Thappu Thaalangal' was composed by Vijaya Basker, who composed more for VCGughanathan's films (like Petha manam piththu, Kanimuthu papa, Engamma Sabatham etc...

But he is no more with us. We lost him about 18 months before

Sad to hear the news about VB...

I remember the song.... Thappu thaalangal vazi thavariya padhangal..... evar ippadi vaazvadhena avar ezudhiya kolangal...

But I still wonder how KB chose VB ....

By the way,,,, Yaarukku yaar sondham naan sollavaa... enakendrum neeyay sondham maalai soodavaaa. - Song from maalai sudava.... Kamal.... and KJY.....

For PS ... one can give a big list...

Correct Balaji. VJ's voice very suitable for Sripriya. When she was acting for the songs "Orey Jeevan Onre Ulaam" (neeya), and "Nee kettaal naan maatten endraa solven kanna" (Ilamai oonjaladukirathu), we can see Sripriya singing herself. Such a coincidence, like TMS for Shivaji, SPB for Kamal, Malaysia vasudevan for Rajini, SCKrishnan for Thangavelu...etc.

Same Latha also (example all songs in Azhagey Unnai Aarathikkiren).

We can add Sujatha also who match with VJ (many songs like :"Andha maanai paarungal azhagu")

VJ was perfect for Sripriya..

Almost ok... Also, ayya un ninaivedhan naapadum raagangal... ninaivaalay silaseidhu.

Somehow, I feel for Sujatha .. PS was a better match..
