That's an interesting list of songs. But you've missed a few more good ones that showcase VJs "rural" reign:
Manjal Arraikkum Bodhu ( Aalukkoru Aasai - IR) Pattule Sela (Pannappuraththu Paandavargal - GA) Kalyana Melangalae (Nellikkani S-G) Machchaane Achchaaram Podu ( Paalabishekam S-G) Niththam Niththam Nellu Choru (IR- Mullum Malarum) Vellikkizhame Vidikaale (Maanthoppu Kili S-G) Ponne Bhoomiyadi (Manitharil Iththanai Nirangalaa? Shyam) Machchanai Paaradi (Thangamagan IR) Vachchaalaam Neththippottu (Kunkumachimzh IR) Maasimaasa Kadaisiyile (Pallaandu Vazhga KVM) Karisal Tharisu (Achchamillai Achchamillai VSNarasimhan)...and many more.
Sugamo Aayiram is an IR-PS classic from Thunaiiruppaal Meenatchi.
Sugam Aayiram En Ninaivile is a VB-VJ classic from Mayagugiraal Oru Maadhu.
Naaz,
You are pucca , harcore VJ fan I think.. Complete data on hand.
Hats off.
Sugam aayiram.. was a nice one... a mild and different song.. Sujatha ...

S.Balaji -
I am a hardcore "fan" of singers and composers who are "originials" with an unique, clear, and formal/authentic style. VJ is one among them.
If a random list of songs makes you think of me as "pucca," I recommend you read a chronological exploration of VJs songs by the film historian, Mr. Saravanan. It is a beautifully written series with many invaluable details and insights, now available to all at www.vanijairam.com
That will tell you how 'kachcha" my knowledge of VJs songs truly is!
Thanks for the "Hats-Off" though!

Naaz....
Good list, but still I have a doubt...
the song you mentioned, "Machaanai paaradi" from Thanga magan.
Is it Vani or S.P.Shailaja...???.

VJ with SPB......... Romba naalaga enakoru aasai......... Shankar Ganesh ....
Lovely melodius song........
One can identify Shankar Ganesh composition through the trible congo beat they used quite frequently and this one is also known for that.
It will be similar to ... Naan kattil melay kanden venilaa..

Dear Balaji.....
That song "Malligai mullai poopandhal" is from Anbey Aaruyirey by MSV. The full version of that song is already here in the previous pages of this thread.
Another good number: "Neeraada neram nalla neram".... long melody by MSV in 'Vaira Nenjam'.

"ammaadi konja neram konja vENdum Odi vA"
though the film or the song is not very popular..
if u hear this song once, u will find the variety in her voice...!!
