நீங்க ஒண்ணை புரிஞ்சிக்கணும். இளையராஜாவோடு சின்ன வயசில் திரிந்து விட்டால் இசை ஞானம் வந்துவிடுமா என்ன? அப்போதும் கற்பூர வாசனையை தெரியாதவர் இருக்கத்தான் செய்வர். அதன் வெளிப்பாடே பாரதிராஜாவின் பேட்டி. விடுங்க பாஸ். நமக்கு ஆயிரம் சோலி இருக்கு

"இளையராஜாவுடன் சேர்ந்து பணியாற்நவேண்டுமா என நாங்க தானே பேசணும், மீடியா ஏன் பேசுது?" என்று கேட்டாரே, அது வாஸ்தவமான பேச்சு. அத்தோடு நிறுத்தி இருக்கலாம். இந்த நிருபப்பசங்களும் சும்மா இருப்பதில்லை. எப்ப பாரு எவன் கெடச்சாலும் நோண்டுறது!

It was pretty clear when BR chose not to have IR for the first time - i.e. for vEdham pudhidhu.

He preferred VM over IR. Matter simple.

It was definitely not for "new anubhavam" with that Devendran, who practically mimic-ed IR. (There are people who don't know the composer for that movie and automatically group 'kaNNukkuL nooRu nilavA idhu oru kanavA' under IR's list ).

After a couple of failures, one with even the mighty Rajinikanth, he tried to patch up with IR ("ennuyirththOzhan"). There were some good songs but people in general didn't warm up to the combo like they did in the days of MM or KK. So BR was clearly seen to be in the "waning" phase while IR's journey continued as usual.

Ofcourse BR had a hit in KC and critical acclaim in K with ARR but these two were more like 'aNaiyiRadhukku mun kozhundhu vittu eriyum' lamp. His subsequent works - including the ones with ARR - failed to attract masses.

We'll have to wait and see what BR does with AKKV. GVP'll be able to give catchy music no doubt - with or without BR - but whether BR can still attract audience is doubtful.

BTW, does anyone have the list of 49 movies that BR did? That seems to be a highly inflated number

May be "in all languages" (like sigappu rOjakkaL & Red roses are counted as 2)...

விக்கி லிஸ்ட்ல 44. கதை களம் ஒன்றாங்க இருந்தாலும், எல்லாம் நேரடியா இவர் இயக்கிய தனி படங்கள் தான். மிச்சம் வாய்ஸ் டப்பிங் மட்டும் பண்ண படங்களா இருக்குமோ? இதில் உள்ள எல்லா தமிழ் படங்களையும் நான் பார்த்து விட்டேன். எனக்கு பிடித்தவை முதல் மரியாதை, மண்வாசனை, ஒரு கைதியின் டைரி, கடலோர கவிதைகள் மட்டும் தான். வேதம் புதிது, கிழக்கு சீமையிலே சிறந்த படங்களே, ஆனால் எதுவோ மிஸ்ஸிங். (சுஜாதா இருந்து ஏழாம் அறிவு படத்தில் பனியாற்றி இருந்தால், ரிசல்ட் வேறு மாதிரி இருந்திருக்கும் என்று தோன்றுகிறது அல்லவா? அது போல் )

ஆனால் இவருக்கு ராஜ போட்டு கொடுத்த பாடல்கள் அத்தனையும் பொன்னானவை, படங்களின் தரத்தையும் தாண்டி. அத்தனை பாடல்களும் அவர் போகிற போக்கில் போட்டு குடுத்து சென்ற பாடல்களாக தோன்ற வில்லை. மிகவும் சிரம பட்டிருக்க வாய்ப்புகள் அதிகம். தன பால்ய காலத்து நண்பனின் பண்டங்கள் நன்றாக வரவேண்டும் என்கிற ஆர்வத்துடன் செய்த வேலைகள்.

பல வருடங்களுக்கு முன்னர், ஒரு தீபாவளி நன்னாளில் தூர்தர்ஷனில் பாரதிராஜா அளித்த பெட்டியை இப்போது நினைக்க தோன்றுகிறது. அப்போது இருவரும் பின்னி பிணைந்து இருந்த நாட்கள்.

இதில் உள்ள எல்லா தமிழ் படங்களையும் நான் பார்த்து விட்டேன். எனக்கு பிடித்தவை முதல் மரியாதை, மண்வாசனை, ஒரு கைதியின் டைரி, கடலோர கவிதைகள் மட்டும் தான். வேதம் புதிது, கிழக்கு சீமையிலே சிறந்த படங்களே, ஆனால் எதுவோ மிஸ்ஸிங். 16 வயதினிலே, கல்லுக்குள் ஈரம், நிழல்கள், என் உயிர் தோழன், கருத்தம்மா இவைகளும் நல்லா இருக்கும்.

மற்றபடி அவரது ராஜா பற்றிய பதில்களையெல்லாம் பெரிது படுத்த வேண்டியதில்லை. நாளைக்கே சொன்னதையெல்லாம் மறந்து ராஜாவோடு தோள்குலுக்கி பேசுவார். ராஜாவும் ஏதாவது நிகழ்ச்சிக்கு பாரதிராஜாவை கூப்பிட்டு , பழைய கதைகளை பேசி நட்புணர்வு பாராட்டலாம்.

அவங்கவங்களுக்கு ஆயிரம் இடங்களில் (ராஜாவை தேர்வு செய்ய வேண்டிய இடங்களில் ) காம்ப்ரமைஸ் செய்துகொள்கிறார்கள். கமல், ரஜினி, பாலா சிறந்த உதாரணங்கள்.

பாரதிராஜா - ராஜா சேர்ந்தால் நல்லாயிருக்கும். சேரவில்லையென்றால் ஒன்றும் நட்டமில்லை. இருக்கவே இருக்கு அவர்களது கூட்டணியில் கிடைக்கப்பெற்ற பொக்கிஷங்கள்.

It is unfortunate , that flim directors choose music directors of their choice , ignoring people's wishes. BR says why media is discussing about the combo... then who will discuss ,, you are taking a movie not for you and your family. It is for the people to watch and we have the right to expect the qualit in it. Now the flim industry is become like a one day cricket match , they want to see the collections in the opening days ,, who cares quality and history... But the people who contributed to the growth of non-nativity music deserve's to hear the recent songs...

All's well as far as everything is concerned: The only gripe the reviewer has is that none of the stills of this movie would make to the gallery section

It's so nice to see a mythological movie well received in these times...

I wish TFM folks tried taking old classics Arunagiri, Avvayyar, etc in modern style...

ராமன் தன் காதல் மனைவி இல்லாமல் பிரிந்து வாடும் துயரையும், காதல் மனைவி அருபமாய் வந்து தான் இல்லாமல் ராமன் எப்படி அஸ்வமேதயாகம் செய்ய முடியும் என்ற யோசித்து வேறு யாரையாவது திருமணம் செய்துவிடுவானோ என்ற அச்சத்தில் அரண்மைக்குள் வந்து தன் சிலையை தானே ரசித்து நின்று விட்டு, தன் கணவன் தன் மேல் வைத்திருக்கும் பாசத்தை, அன்பை, காதலை கண்டு உருகும் காட்சியில் ராஜா.. கடவுளின் கிருபை முழுக்க உள்ளவனய்யா அவன்.. என்னா ஒரு பேக்ரவுண்ட் ஸ்கோர் உருக்கி எடுக்கிறார்.
