Just because Vijay has fan clubs doesn't mean his movies will run. Then even Sura should have run for 100 days. We all know Ajith even after disbanding his fan clubs was able to give super hit Mankatha. The fact is only if the movie is good it will be hit.

I personally feel majority of people (I dont call them fans) who wants Vijay to join politics are the ones who dream of getting some post(atleast ward member) in their place. I know these people dont even watch Vijay's movies but are ready to do anything for political meetings (banner, vazhga chorus, etc).

rifath, no need to get provoked or angered about my choice of words. It was a response to Plum for comparing the two. My apologies if it had hurt you. Still my opinion is the same with respect to their intentions of joining politics. What MGR achieved, may be a different issue. You may read plum's signature(2nd line) for my opinion.

I do not want to drag him into politics as I feel that there are enough people already out there to screw us.

Now, you say that he has thirundhified and is keeping himself away from politics, but he himself hasn't said that he has quit politics once and for all. That's why...... Btw, my discomfort was not only directed at Vijay. I had mentioned Ameer, Cheran and the likes too.
