Twitter ah reject panniyachu as a thala fan report. moviecrow rejected. Sify has given two diff reports on nanban 1 about weekend collection and other about opening. Ithellam vachu paartha subjective statement thaan ennodathu. Shankar kooda vanthu ivvalavu thaanah? Read it clearly.

I did not say that you have a problem with Nanban becoming a hit and I'm not here to oppose your opinion on things. I agree that people rejected all those reports saying it's not legit, which leads me to question what is the 'legitimate' source. Anyway, I'm happy that Nanban is doing so well. Collection ellam partha oru padumum pArka mudiyathu.

4.95 almost 5, its a good stuff considering, its a vijay film & not super star's..mankatha 9c??

Average stuff?. Theatre occupancy is still 95% during its second week. Collected 50 crore more than its competitor with 80 screens minimum.I can accept with more number of holidays but other film also getting good word of mouth and it's also a hit.
And i dont think taxes are subtracted from the collection amount before published.

Yes, Taxes are subtracted from the Collection amount AFAIK, and WOM is good, the Movie is a sure BB no doubt about that.
BTW it did not collect 50 Crores More, it is <50 Lakhs = 10% more than Mankatha, entertainment taxes are roughly 30% to 20%.

Amount coming in BW and Sify are NET (-15%, if movie has ET. Sridhar pillai confirmed this long back). When comparing with 1st week Velayutham gross, Nanban falls 5L short.
@Podas, after including 1st 2days collection from Sify (which was excluded in BW), 7am arivu and mankatha's final net collections were around 9.19cr and 9.22cr respectively. This discussion has been beaten to death. If you have any doubt, go back few pages or PM me.

With SHANGAR Factor
A number of questions have been asked about the Box Office Collection of Nanban - whether Nanban has beaten Enthiran? We looked at multiplex collections for 3 major territories which had a number of surprising observations. Nanban is far behind in terms of beating Enthiran even in A centers. But, it is performing in par with Mankatha and 7aum Arivu in Tamil Nadu.
Note: As we go through ignore the first partial week collections due to varying number of shows for each of the movies. Week 2 has the full week collection with almost exact number of shows for all the movies which makes the comparison fair and square.
A. Coimbatore
________________________________________
Nanban did marginally better than 7aum Arivu and Mankatha. Probably because of music release and a number of local starcast including Sathyan and Sathyaraj hailing from Coimbatore.
B. Chennai
________________________________________
Mankatha had collected 2 Lakhs more than Nanban in the multiplex center for almost exact number of shows. The trend is consistent across PVR and other A centers as well. Nanban performed in comparative terms as Mankatha and 7aum Arivu.
C. Bangalore
________________________________________
Nanban fared below average in Bangalore (slightly better than Velayudham). Multiplex managers attributed to two reasons -- 1. people who had watched 3 Idiots did not want to watch Nanban 2. Another big release Businessman attracted a lot of metro audience away from Nanban.
Conclusion
________________________________________
Overall, Nanban is making good collections in par with Mankatha and 7aum Arivu. There are no signs anywhere to show that the collections have touched Enthiran as claimed by people associated with the movie. All the recent movies took a huge nose-dive during the 3rd weekend. It will be interesting to see whether Nanban can sustain the collections as the family audience pour in.
