DUBAI: South Indian music director Harris Jayaraj will perform live in Dubai on Feb. 3 in a futuristic concert of 3D interactive songs, light and sound extravaganza, which is dubbed the first of its kind in the world.
The show titled “Harris on the Edge live-in-concert” will be staged at Dubai Festival City with an innovative presentation and interaction with audience on a 270-degree mega stage 140 ft x 100 ft wide with the latest digital backdrop and content, organisers said.
MS Muralidharan, MD, TechFront International Digital Solutions, said, “The show will be a new dimension of a musical concert technology that’s going to sparkle the first time in Dubai.”
“The concert will give audio and visual treatment for the fans of Harris Jayaraj, with his chart-busting songs from the hit movies Ghajini, Minnale, 7Am Arivu, Nanban, Varanam Aayiram, Orange, and so on in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi film industries,” he elaborated.
Ashokan Subraminaim, CMO Radio Hello 89.5 FM, said, “The songs will be rendered by leading playback singers such as Karthik, Haricharan, Krish, Benny Dayal, Rahul Nambiar, Vijay Prakash, Suchitra, Andrea Jeremiah, Sunitha Sarathy and Swetha Mohan.”

Harris will be performing live all over the world accompanied by a troupe of Tamil playback singers and international musicians and dancers. Here are the stills of ‘Harris on the Edge’ concert held at Dubai on Saturday night.
Nenjukkul Peidhidum and Oh Shanthi Shanthi from Vaaranam Aayiram were among the songs presented with the help of the backdrop at the concert. At the end of the show, a short fireworks display lit up Festival City’s open area.
Harris blends digital technology and music to give a unique experience. However, the absence of a good visual and sound surround proved a challenge for the lower end ticket holders. The lower chairs were some 200 to 300 metres away from the stage.
