Thanks Nov...Per my opinion,Nanban's Malaysia collections looks very strange and unbeleivable...

most of the multiplex(TGV,GSC) reduce the show drastically to accommodate Chinese new year release ( almost 5 or 6 new Chinese movie got release here) this could be the reason..

Malaysia collection adhigama kammiya?

romba kammi... and as predicted by Mahen (who said it will sweep away all records) it didnt happen.

Why? Thats anybody's guess.
but some pertinent points.

1. My personal experience: it was fully booked on wed after pongal in mid-valley
2. It was fully packed on wed, thur, fri after CNY at IOI mall
3. But the movie was screened in the smallest halls with only abt 100+ seats.
4. Nanban did not open in many of the cineplexes that usually shows big movies, like Summit, CapSquare, etc.
5. Colliseum, the only stand alone cinema nearly seats 1000 ppl. There Nanban shared space with Vettai (2 shows each)
6. The greatest shock for me was for the premium 9.00pm show, Vettai is being screened.
7. Possibly, because of the low turnout, Vijay visited Malaysia a couple of days ago with wide publicity in TV and radio
8. The effect of above will be seen in remaining weeks.

As for Mankatha, it was a five day holiday period (Eid festival - 2 days, National day & weekend)
Comparatively Pongal is not a holilday here.

Malaysia collection is very low..doesnt make sense..being distributed by suara,im guessing the figures are only from gsc n tgv and not lotus

Nov.suara and lotus are enemies..thats the reason vettai was given priority because it was distributed by them..

One thing is Sure. Looking over the Chennai Box office from BW / Sify is mostly crap and it is proved time and again. Malaysia Box office also kind of in the same category it seems.

What is the point of this thread other than fighting for whatever the crap they are giving? I would say this thread needs to be locked. Anyone seriously believes on these reports?
