    Hi K :- Old thosai mashed and thaalichchi with mustard seeds, dried chillies, curry leaves and sprinkled salt & sugar to taste also taste yummy! my mom used to make it when we have old thosai

    hello dev.... ty for letting me know about seeyali....& also posting mrs mano's recipe.
    Yappa...evolo vishayam iruku therinjika...its amazing how in those days...nothing was wasted. (Excellent & satifying "no waste" policy )

    ps....i tried yr corn poha...with a little twist....i just boiled the corn & added to the seasoning...it tasted good...ty for an easy recipe.

    dev & kugan...ipo oru kuzhapu kuzhaparen paarunga ongalai.....
    seeyali = uppuma made with big pieces of old idly's....amaamva ilaiyaa
    idly uppuma = uppuma made with uthirtha idlys correct ah ilaiya.....
    seeyali = made with old dosai.............
    ipo ennai old hard idlys aala adika varaporaanga ellaarum.....(odaren naan)...

    nm nga....dosai seeyali kooda unda ...innovative minds of those days are to be appreciated.....& followed.....i guess.....

    kugan nga.....seeyali...recipe of yrs is very different....sounds very simple.....kandipa try pannaren.....but wld it make a difference if it is not old idly's??...i like the addition of coconut to it....

    k nga onga beans with sesame looks easy & tempting too...this one life time is not enough to try out all the available recipes ngo!!!

    when a name of a recipe does not sound familiar to me, then i post it here for u...for i know u wld some how come to say...ohhh athuvaaa....ohhhh ithuvaaa....which keeps many of us wonder ethuvo??? .....
