Nerd / Thumburu,
My bad. I heard this song only a couple of months the first time (I have hear 'en manasula' earlier) and assumed this was not popular. Haven't heard it in Hyd. I now stand corrected.
Usha Madam,
Like app, you must also start one thread wherein you can post in your life experience along with the song. I am sure it will be interesting.
thumburu,
" pleasure of drinking Raja's songs along with Road side tea and bisxuits." Roger that.

"I too find it amusing why men get paranoid when they spot us in the vicinity of tea kadai as if it is only their birthright and idhula oru vethu presteeeege vera " - ha ha you folks should start a "Women for SideWalk Tea Shops" org
My wife would join too .. I had the exactly same reaction when my wife said she used to drink at a tea shop near her cramming center while preparing for the Nursing Boards exams in Chennai. You women folk should not misunderstand us men.. just some traditional chivalry and caring for our woman that is all
I love the masala tea at the "gundamma" tea shop near Gandhi mantapam (Adyar Road ?).. and the young fellow used to keep track of how many biscuits each person is grabbing from the glass jar .. there was no music though. But the music with tea was there in my home town..

Listening to the songs of 'Chinnapadas'. Never gave it a keen listen earlier and as usual regretting it now
'paaku vethalai'. 'paadum bhakta meera' and especially 'vaanam thodadha'. Super songs all.

wonderful compostion, SKR.
Yes, I feel many songs of IR in the 70s had a MSV influence. I guess it takes a while to evolve your own style.
I also like this song very much.

A song, that is complete mismatch with picturisation because song is ahead of its times, in my opinion.

You might have listened to Oh Vennilaave, Oru KiLi Uruguthu, Thaamarai Kodi and Oomai Nenjin Osai from Aananda Gummi with SPB and SJ doing a cakewalk, but this song is not mostly heard even those days. Once you hear, it will be your dearest. I am not sure if it is a title song. The opening santhoor and sober flute tells us what this song is going to be. One of Raja's best solo. The solo violin and flute in the interludes tells us the whole story.
Simple and friendly tune yet Raja brings the depth with his phenomenal singing and drowning orchestration. What a singer! Very under-rated singer of all time.
I was searching for a good quality, found one recently from Love is Pain album. Aptly titled and some great songs in this album.
