But .. im just hooked on to this piece .. semaya irukku ... In the name of improvisations , he didnt kill the standards he set in Jazz .. it appears like a structured piece and still youthful ..

It's quite sometime since I wrote in this forum. With the teasers on NEPV, all internet channels are buzz with expectations and predictions.

After 'Paa', this is the album that has created so much media buzz. One thing is clear - if Raja's director happen to be savvy marketers, they manage to create a lot of press before the movie release. Be it, Balki or Gautam. Maybe, Raja must consider savvy marketers for his future projects more favorably. Raja has said on many occasions that a good product does not need great marketing/promotion. Unfortunately, those days are over. You cannot sit on the sidelines and watch little guys steal the limelight all the time. You will suffer the Microsoft syndrome, where the small companies such as Twitter or Facebook have more press mileage than MS.

There are definitely a few concerns. The promos are released for Telugu and Tamil and not for Hindi. Are they trying to test the waters with the Ts before they go to the big H? I really do not understand that part of the game.

Lastly, Gautam's movie must do well despite great efforts by Raja. I liked his Pachaikili Muthucharam which had a poor run. I did not like his Minnale, which had a great run. I do not know where this would fall. It is important for the movie to be successful. More importantly, it has to be wildly successful so that this can be replicated in Bollywood.

The kids must do well and not simply rely on the 70-year old veteran! There is only so much Atlas can do in the movie business!

uthirippookkaL had just one great song (azhagiya kaNNE) and even that had elements which weren't "music album" type (the third interlude, for e.g.). However, people talk about the music of that movie until this day. None of us worry about the kalyANam pAru / pOdA pOdA pokka / the Aswini sister ICM song etc.

Can someone afford to be the top-MD by composing only such stuff today (however great the movies are, even with BO successes).

Right from MR days (even the IR ones Anjali / Thalabathi), the concept of "music album" (though part of movie) had been established and the MD who does such music will be the one ruling the chart, getting max paycheck etc!

The concept of "I'll be doing according to what the movie strictly needs only" etc will be appreciated only by a few (or old HCFs)...

2 days ago, I just saw a very short clip of a song of Samantha and the telugu hero (in NEPV) in a telugu channel. It was very short and sounded very catchy. Could this be NEPV teaser? Unfortunately, they didn't show any names. Have they acted in any other telugu movies before? If not, then maybe this might be NEPV.

By the by, can someone please do the honours of starting a new thread for NEPV? Its likely that GVM will release more such thukkudaas before the launch of the album. It'd make it easier if all these are recorded in one thread. Nandri hai.
