Ajith's remake plans
Ajith's remake plans

May 26, 2012
Ajith has signed up for a film with director Siva of Siruthai fame for Nagi Reddy's Vijaya Productions. There is a lot of curiosity surrounding this project. Latest reports suggest that the film will be a remake of the Telugu film, Daruvu which has Ravi Teja and Taapsee in the lead. It was released yesterday and is being touted as an out and out masala entertainer.
Siva's last film, Siruthai which was also a remake of Ravi Teja's Vikramakoodu and had Karthi in the lead went on to become a smash hit. Clearly Ravi Teja is a lucky charm for director Siva!

It would take another year for Shiva to start working on Thala's film. I don't think Vishnu movie release by next June (given the pacing between each thala film). So, there is a high chance that Santhanam might have been roped for some other film by Shiva before our film.

Lets hope its not a masala movie i wasn't particularly pleased with siruthai i think directors have to move out of that genre because audiences are matured now.

Ajith side-lines Siruthai Siva
Director Siva, who shot to fame with Siruthai, is in a bad shape today with his latest release Daruvu not doing well at the box office. Daruvu, starring Ravi Teja, hit the screens last Friday, but did not take a good opening.
Following this, Siva tried to contact Ajith who had expressed his desire to work with him soon after Siruthai released. But sources say that Daruvu’s flop status has put off Ajith. It has been reported that Siva was told that Ajith’s dates for the
next four years are full
and to get in touch with him after the expiry of this period.
intha siva vai ninaicha kaduppa irukku.. avanum ava moonjiyum..
avanukku na ena talent irukku nu thala chance koduthaaru..
daruvu trailer paarkkumpothe, ivanudaiya chinnapullaithanam therinji pochu..
suppose if the project is really put off, then i wil be really happy..

Ajith’s Film Is An Original Script : Siruthai Siva
Published in Deccan Chronicle daily news paper dated May 30, 2012
What’s hot in K’town’s gossip circuit? It is Thala’s forthcoming film with director Sirutthai Shiva, produced by Vijaya Vahini Productions.
Reports from tinselville suggest that it will be the remake of Ravi Teja’s recent T’town release Daruvu, which incidentally, was directed by Shiva.
The socio-fantasy masala entertainer has Taapsee playing the arm candy of Ravi Teja. Shiva’s Sirutthai, which was a remake of Ravi Teja’s Vikramarkudu and had Karthi in the lead, went on to become a huge hit.
Sources say that Shiva considers Ravi Teja his lucky charm and is contemplating bringing the Daruvu script to Tamil after making a few changes to suit Ajith’s on-screen persona.
When DC contacted Shiva, who is basking in the success of Daruvu, he denied any such moves and shrugged it off as a figment of someone’s imagination.
“I don’t know why people spread such stories! Ajith sir’s film will be a mass entertainer and it is a new script, not the remake of Daruvu,” he said.
But the filmmaker did not rule out the possibility of the film being remade in K’town and also in Bollywood.
“The movie has been widely appreciated and is rocking the box office collections. I have been getting calls from Chennai as well as Mumbai, for the remake of this film.
But I am yet to take a call on it,” he claims. And guess who has been touted to reprise Ravi Teja in B’town? It is none other than Akshay Kumar.
There was yet another rumour about Anushka Shetty not featuring opposite Ajith due to date issues.
When asked about this the director clarified, “There were a few date problems with Anushka but we will be sorting it out soon”.
Anyways, I am starting the project only after Ajith completes Vishnuvardhan’s film.”
