Revisited some segments of MMKR yesterday..
The scene where Crazy venkatesh and ponnambalam follow madhan and then get diverted to follow Kaameshwaran - Kamal and crazy in full form is a given.
But a close scrutiny of music opens up a revelation!!
While the "madhan follow" scene is in progress - the music is all jazz and brass - cool..
Then Kaameshwaran crosses path - small shift in the BGM as the followers contemplate- then they begin following kaameshwaran - now the music is all funky carnatic - flute violin and mridhangam full flow - ending in the signal - the "closing theermaanam" - is a carnatic delight with morsing joining in...
It appears as if Kamal and Raaja had a script level discussion on how this scene is going to be edited - but it is not the case - Raaja simply scored for the completed and edited scene and it came out extempore - Just like that and that is pure genius all abound - from Kamal writing it, crazy dialoguing it up and Raaja completing it.. Immense delight.
Apparently, a democracy is a place where numerous elections are held at great cost without issues and with interchangeable candidates.

A few months back I watched MMKR.
For all my protestations about BGM I found myself 'remembering' and expecting and humming pieces in MMKR, before they appeared!
