MaappiLLaikku maaman manasu - Brilliant brilliant song but thats for the Raaja forum. But superb to watch on screen too. Particularly like the son. Dad does his bit imitating nadigar thilagam but its the son who steals the show. See the video to believe. They don't make scenes / songs like this anymore. How unimaginative our commercial cinema has become

KN was picturised in a beautiful location and the whole movie was pleasing to the eyes.
I could not remember any other comedy movie picturised so nicely.
Proof for this movie being benchmark in many aspects:
- in KSY the song " hello viswanathan " was literally copied including the choreography.
- in Chandramukhi a similar scene, like the story narration between nagesh and balaiah, was tried by rajni and vadivelu.
An equal comedy movie of the same generation could be Bama Vijayam but lags behind in technical aspects like picturisation when compared to KN.

+1 on Golmaal vs Thillumullu. I think it was equa who observed this sometime - thillumullu as chennai sabha ding troupe naadaga effect. Golmaal is far more natural, and somehoe they made it believable that we were not watching a ding sabha drama. Tamil remake pArthappO dhAn idhu adippadaila oru ding sabha dramanu purinjudhu. indhila adhu theriyAdha padikku eduthirukkAnga...
