Joe, Adjusting to Inflation shud be done for all movies. For that, 1st, there shud be some credible information about Box office Collection. Also, it shud also be adjusted to Population rise. But that doesn't make the above listed movies, and their records as non sense. They surely make sense.
Aravind, the talk is not at all about profit, shares of Producer-Distributor-Exibitor etc, but only about Total Collection, which indicated the max no of tickets sold for a particular movie.
TA, on that DeepaavaLi, the more profitable movie was neither Guna nor Thalapathy but Bramma which ran well!

Joe, if you say that the yesteryear movies made more or equal collection percentage, then why not limit the comparison only there? Even the age also shud be considered no? In age of 50+, what was the collection/hit rate of NT/MT compared to Kamal/Rajini?
Actually there are lots of other factors even in current scenario. For example, Vijay/Ajith/Surya movies too run well and they too get salaries in range of 15+ Cr. This shud be compared to what kind of Box office impact did the stars like Jayashankar/Muthuraman/Gemini Ganesan etc had. Becos, we cannot consider Kamal/Rajini as retired, for atleast some 3/4 years from now!

Their record in collection makes sense ,but list like this in the name of 'All time highest collection' just by Rupee figure doesn't make sense , atleast for me .

Inflation padi paartha, SKV wil be more than VV..
Let be 100 rs for SKV = 10000 rs for VV (for ex. )
