Anban, I do not think there is anything stupid in thrusting the facts. "fanboy fights"oda fundamental rule adhu dhaane? However, if someone says Thevar Magan flopped, he can probably be(with an easy majority) branded an 'ignorant fool'. In the case of Dasa, the general public simply refuses to believe that it ranks among the biggest BO winners in TFI. It is now 4 years since the movie released. Other than those 2 articles in TOI and The Hindu and the Kumudam edition posted by Sakala, has anybody else acknowledged these collection figures? Our very own producers like US try to hide Dasa's records and he was able to make his so called 'fact' reach the masses. Imagine what would have happened had he replaced any of the other two movies in the list with 7am Arivu?
This is just my polambal & I know this discussion will not go anywhere. Now that KH is in 'NI' limelight again, I sincerely hope the success of VR will bring to light the records of Dasa too, or at least help this movie do away with that tag.

Hatori, to answer only onle line of ur post, this one -> "the general public simply refuses to believe that it ranks among the biggest BO winners in TFI. "
One major but important change which most of us aren't aware. Those are days where 100th day posters, Siver Jubilee Functions, etc were benchmarks. Nowadays, who reads dailies like Dhinathanthi which gets maximum no of Cine Ads?! Also who looks for posters?
Nowadays, info flows from Internet to (Offline)Public. Even Info is 1st released to Net, than the normal offiline medium. Trailers reach youtube before Theaters. So, once if somebody is present on web, (Orkut/Facebook.Twitter, forums, ect) and even check emails! (friends send a load of crap and great emails such that even real good ones looks crap!) Thankfully nowadays that craps get to facebook straight!
Even the Production houses releases movie launch info on net and that reaches ppl much before the next day Dhina THanthi or Hindu or Maalai malar etc. Satellite Channels don't have this instant thing at all ehwn it comes to Cinema becos of their own nature. Unless something big(probably deaths!) happen, they don't put flash line news for each adn every Cine news item!
So, Online is the only way to go! (Maybe we can say there is no one single place to track ONLY these news, even Wikipedia is not one such. It has loads of stories. such thing is not available.)
But to answer ur rest of the thing, i would ask, what shud have been done by the Dasa Producer and Kamal? Then, what different, did other blockbusters, like endhiran producers did to highilight the fact? News coming in Kalaigner TV, Sun TV, Dinakaran, Sooriyan FM, Vikatan group (
) etc cannot be considered!
And reg Dasa, there is no single loss report from anybody. Also, there were news about its record breaking, in some medias like Ananda Vikatan Etc.

logic does not work here .. so much persuasion for what?
For dasa the Hindi version damaged its reputation a lot and media have no support

small digression: reg Kamal-Rajini films poster plus abhishekam culture etc etc - how were things back during the days of MGR-Sivaji ?? did they have such passionate following as well, from the older generation - with ppl taking time to indulge in 'festivities' as well ??
