let's consider Shankar..
- none of his heroines made it big in TFI
- Aishwarya Rai is the only exception, she had the ulaga azhagi tag & she went to Bollywood
- considering the heroes, when he join hands with really big stars, its a win-win situation for both.. if it is not so big / lesser known stars.. its a win for Shankar & not for the actor.. it helps just to fill their resume.. eg: prabhu deva, prashanth, vikram, Arjun.


now, let's consider Maniratnam..
- post 1990, more or less same case like Shankar
- both work with more or less same actors..


working with ARR .. ye maaya cheseva.. & she was blessed to be in NEPV

i'm not a branded guy when it comes to my personal life.. but i see the brand when it comes to a film..
my brand is the lead actor.. not the director.. but many here go by director's brand name.. not an issue for me.. just said what i thought..

as far as Samantha is considered, i can advise her a highly rated director is not a must to give a successful career... believe me Sam.. i'm saying this.. & I'm a fan of one who was not helped by any brands to have a successful career..

so, don't worry about missing the brands.. health first.. others next..
