Thanks Hamid. Will look for it. Lot more scenes can be youtubed. Vidyasagar scenes for example - onna vida innonnu better / anbu seluthuradhula dhaan karumiyaa irukka koodaadhu / the confession scene, actually the whole Archana-Vidyasagar episode is superb.

'engEyO kEtta kural' was a commercial SUCCESS, though not on a very big scale.
It was a 100 nAL movie.
It's just that both SKV and EKK got released the same day, with the other having a much bigger (silver jubilee) success...

I've already mentioned that it wasn't as big as SKV (and hence totally got eclipsed those days). Neither it was as popular as other Rajini hits due to the "lack-of-heroism".
But it was reportedly a commercial positive. Of course, I've not been to theaters to confirm this
but have definitely seen posters
Per tabloids, a star movie was commercially positive if it crossed 35 days those days. For a non-star movie, 20-25 days' run was sufficient. EKK was a 100 day movie somewhere. Even in Trichy, it crossed 50 days.
