During 81-85, posters in Trichy weren't "fabricated" (not many theaters those days and me being a visiter to theaters more than once a week can vouch for this in general).
Even some supposedly big hit movies of KH-RK had only "iNaindha 50-vadhu nAL". (e.g. 'moonRam piRai' started off in kalai arangam, a big theater, but celebrated its iNaindha-50th day only in Rukmani of Woraiyur IIRC). There had been any number of KH-RK movies that didn't hit the 50th day in Trichy those days and they didn't hide that fact by posters.
k-g, I saw mahAnadhi on the 153rd day*. But it was Little Anand which was of course a pretty small theatre, just saying the newspaper cuttings you might have seen are probably genuine.
* - No, I don't track this info generally, just that I was stuck in a summer camp then and had to wait for long to go see a film and I was pleasantly surprised I was able to catch mahAnadhi so long after its release.![]()

nah.. Johnny...
Lovely movie though the second half was not as much impressive as the first one... took the convinient path... the characterisations are the changes they are undergoing / impacting us is great... RK-SD romance / cute little expressions are too good to watch.. worth keeping a copy and watching it at times...
Come back strong.. Come back soon..
