நல்ல வேளை ரஜினி திறமையான நடிகர் என்று கூறி என் கூட சண்டை போடுவீர்கள் என்று நான் நினைத்தேன். ஒத்துக் கொண்டதற்கு நன்றி.

I've not seen much Malayalam cinema... Hubbers with good knowledge on Malayalam cinema can talk to that since I know nothing about Lal... Just asking out of curiosity?
Indhiya cinema = Kamal HaasaR, Indhiya cricket = Sachin TendulkaR.

+ Zillion. Either he took it easy or nothing good came by his way.

2. Rajini is the only actor among all mass heroes and mass hero wannabes in Tamil film continuum. I don't like 6 to 60 but look at how he handled ordinary moments there. Grouch can write more. As NT would have done it. Call him a NT clone yeah if you want. Nothing to be ashamed about that.
3. Kamal the writer/director - greater talent than Kamal the actor. But yeah the star Kamal was required to make sure the director Kamal had a market. To that extent, I see the 80s as investment.
4. He is a bloody good actor. Trumps most other competitors on that aspect despite acting being his second string in the bow.
4. I rejeet stunt and dance talent so yeah, P-R's passionate arguments for 80s Kamal along those lines is rejetted.
5. Rajini after Thalabadhi is thoroughly wasted
5. It is long term memory loss to evaluate Rajini based on past 20 years. Just think Jeeva@30 years vs Rajini*30 years. No contest, even if you ignore Rajini's output post his 30 years of age. Heck, idhellaam naan En explicitA sollikittrukkEn?
7. Frabhu deva dance - sori sirangu soridhal, pant zip kazhatti moodal, sattai thiRandhu moodal, discrete movements - bhava bayaharam. Thank God I don't have much respect for dance as an art. If he is the standard against which Kamal is poor dancer, lacks grace etc, you guys should take it easy. You don't want to call Kamal good according to those standards.
Idhaiyellaam, pala muRai solliyAchu. IpdiyE recycle paNNikittirunga...
1. The so-called ordinary movies had its charm, some humour that is clearly improvised by Kamal. Artificial to you, very effective to us (back then, for newer hubbers, I was a hardcore fan of Kamal before retiring and becoming hardcore Sivaji fan).
2. Spot on, 6 to 60 is a remba sAthArana movie in the mould of old Pa varisai/KSG films, poorly produced and directed. But Rajini shines. Not NT clone, but good student of NT School of Acting.
3. Soru pOttu valarthathu Kamal the actor. All his scripts can cater only Kamal the actor, note the word "cater". Kamal the actor < Kamal the writer <Kamal the director.
4. But of course.
4. Your taste.
5. Sad but true, though there were moments here and there (I liked Baba the best after Thalapathi, so sue me).
5. Absofrickinlutely.
7. While I loved it back then, he was the main reason for "_ukku dance varumA?" argument that keeps cropping up. Sad.
Athu sari, what's the reason behind the numbering repetition?

Rest two categories - comparable to Kamal

Mohan Lal : Kamal :: Nicholson : De Niro
Like them both.
NT has two 'lineages' in Mammooka, and Rajini. But Lal and Kamal are inspired by NT too.
Bachchan lam get out please.
