Yes , it may not be the 93 Symphony , but i strongly have a beleif that we will atleast get to witness unreleased music of his for 4hrs which will surely be a treat for any music fan.

I had exactly same thoughts (and questions) as you expressed here. I really doubt if it is 1992 symphony.

But I am fine even if its HTNI or NBW. But I will be disappointed if it is The Music Messiah or India 24 hours. Because these albums are slightly different (composed for videos, documentaries) and hence do not have the same musical effect as HTNI or NBW.

Whatever be it, even if it's just going to be a show featuring the man speaking/discussing music (even without any acutal music being played), I'll take that happily. Things like these are long due. Any form of unwrapping the genius mind is welcome.

6. i dont how many of you know this, a few years ago, a music school affiliated to a university in Indiana, had apparently requested IR to do a score for a cross-cultural event and IR had indeed composed a special score which were played as the curtain raiser for that event ! will send the link when i find it!

I posted to just help clarify things - we ALL have a tendency to jump to conclusions - some bloke on Facebook or somewhere made a guess abt the symphony and it has spread like wildfire!

from what some sources as well as my gut instincts say, IR will talk abt the concerts he is doing in the immediate future, as well as use these as kind of music/musicology appreciation 'workshops' / sessions, like what he did in Andhra pradesh sometime back, when he played a Mozart piece with his orchestra as well as the 'sangathil padatha kavidhai/ gum sum gum' piece to a rural crowd !

IR wants to take the rich WCM traditions to patti-thotti and all of this i guess are part of those dreams!

i always do my 'job'/task promptly ! but makkals dont read them at all!

so KV, are you aware that a reputed ethnomusicology journal reviewed TiS and published the same ?? i posted the link for it in 2008-2009 !
