I think endhiran would have been lot better choice for 3d than Sivaji. With that said they chose Sivaji because Endhiran is still fresh in people's memory.

It tells us how much money AVM made out of the BOSS. That they are spending a few crores on 3-Ding the film knowing very well the RoI may not be worth it.
