+1
it is emotional manipulation throughout but not far off from reality........except for couple of chest thumping crying scenes which were cringeworthy, it did not go too overboard with emotions.....i kinda welcome it......also, the flow and sequences were natural, nothing banal - namma kudumbathalayum nadakkradhu dhaane......esp the scene where tarun gopi talks to GM Kumar on manivannan died - it was so natural, the same way, one explains death of family members......
visu padam ellam classic dhaane - oru madhiri creates a world of his own caricatures......after a point, ellame jolly dhaan....dont worry u have kambeni
except for didi tera dada deewana movie

all language-la family padam pudikkin
tharunKobi - kuduththa vElaiya kachchidhamA senjadhaa dhaan thONichu.
Seeman as the paasam-kObam pongum brother - also works well.
When Singampuli asks TG in the end of the movie, if he can lift him - how to they anticipate if such moments will work or not?
I wouldn't be surprised if some people found that funny and overdone.

ellArum solRIngaLEnnu muththukku muththAga-lErndhu kAlaila sila scenes kettEn/pAththEn. Felt the same way as mAyANdi kudumbaththAr (which I've seen in bits and pieces earlier, saw some scenes this past weekend too). Almost entirely templatized. For instance, the same 'logic' of Tarun Gopi doing something 'extra' to a relative and the relative repenting is repeated multiple times (in mAyaNdi kudumbaththAr). Exceptions of Ilavarasu, Saranya et al. aside, the performances don't add any value either.

My vote in this terrain goes to Thangar Bachan who can be very effective. Better than Cheran in my books.
