NEP - 1 LAKH AUDIO CD SALES and 10 LAKH YOU TUBE VIEWS

Producer Kumar of RS Infotainment is a happy man now. He has every reason to be. Their production venture Neethaane En Ponvasantham ( NEP), directed by Goutham Menon with Jiiva and Samantha in lead roles, is making all headlines. The highlight is that for the first time maestro Ilaiyaraaja has joined hands with Goutham Menon for the romantic musical entertainer.

A fantabulous audio launch event took place a few says ago in Chennai, which made all heads turn towards NEP.

Says Kumar, "We are happy that NEP trailer has crossed one million viewers within three days on the Internet. We, at RS infotainment, are happy and delighted that music has become a huge hit. After several years, people were really thrilled to listen some soulful music away from electronic instruments. The new sounds has given them a great delight."

He further said, "The audio, released by Sony Music, is sold out in the market. Even before its release, over one lakh CDs were booked in advance. The musical CDs are being treasured as a rare possession by many."

At a time when downloading is rampant in the present day, the craze among people to buy these CDs has overwhelmed all of us, he adds. There are eight songs in the film and everything has found favour with the masses, he exclaims.

wow O wow! that was amazing! See, now this is what I've been saying about making the man comfortable and then allowing him to speak about music... it was just flowing there, so naturally! (yeah, the episode might've been rehearsed, but the flow was really nice).

There are nice little gems in that 5 songs session, which by the way, was a novel idea by GVM - to make Raaja do an unplugged version of his songs! Gvm, you're a man of taste!
Oru poongavanam - the way he explains his 'approach' to the composition, this is the sort of stuff that I'm dying to listen to. He first talks about how he had 'deliberated' on doing something different for a routine 'heroine in a swimming pool' situation song. Then he speaks about how he had a 'specific' ragam 'at that moment' which he wanted to utilize, but was scared if it would be too 'classical' or 'heavy', as a result of which he 'shapes' his tune showing only the 'traces' of the scale he intended to use. The way he plays the ragam, highlights certain phrases and maps that to the lines in the tune... goosebumps! Idhu dhaan. idhEdhaan saar. Gimme more of this please!

Can someone please initiate a process with SONY so NEPV can be sold via itunes music store? It will be easy for those who don't have access to buy CDs abroad can still buy it through itunes or other appstores.
