actually, the mistake of not accepting quotes of 10C + for the hindi version is partly Dhaanu's. When he is the producer he should have taken the call to sell the rights at such a good rate.. obviously, Kamal's advice became BS.. but that does not mean that Kamal stopped him from selling the rights by brute force.. Dhaanu-vum konjam greedy-aa irunthurukkaaru..

Kamal the "consultant" failed badly here.. but still, as a Producer he could have been satisfied with what he got and sold it off at such a good rate.. bcos, it is his movie .. he has all the rights to sell at whatever rate he likes..

He says that while shooting, the budget exceeded but he didn't want to interrupt kamalis vision. He says that though the film flopped then, but now, he is proud that even a hollywood director takes inspiration from this Film. This film is ahead of its time. So he wants to re release this film highlighting this fact(hollywood inspiration) and want to thus show his respect on kamal, the great Artist.

He further says that Chachi 420 was sold for 4C and Hey Raam for 5C and so kamal himself assured this film will go for 7_C in Hindi. But the hindi distributors asked for 12C abut kamal disagreed and insisted to sell ONLY for 15C & not less than that. Be cos of this, he waited and finally he faced a loss of almost 10C due to this delay. Had kamal agreed to 10 or 12C Hindi rights, Dhanu said he wud have been spared of these financial losses. Becos of this, Kamal too got worried and came ahead to reduce substantial amount of his salary and again repeats that he is interested to again do a Grand publicity and re-release this film

Aalavandahan - it is not going to be commercially successful if re-released in 2012 or 2013.
