Now the all eyes are on Vijay’s, AR Murgadoss directed-Thuppakki (The Gun), the last of 2012s biggies releasing for Diwali (Nov 13). A lot is riding on the Rs 70 crore film, which many feel may reverse the trend.
AR Murgadoss says he is confident that the action oriented entertainer will be a big hit. He is also planning to remake the film in Hindi with Akshay Kumar. An excited Murgadoss said: “Thuppakki is an out and out racy, mass entertainer with Vijay playing an army commando. The film is set in Mumbai. Santosh Sivan shot it. ”
Concludes Dr Murali Manohar, who has taken the Chennai city rights of Thuppakki : “Diwali is one of the biggest festivals in Tamil Nadu and Thuppakki is a cracker of a movie that can be enjoyed by Vijay fans and the family audiences. I’m sure that it will work as our audiences love big star movies with the right mix of entertainment.”
Still, it is really a long way to reach Rs 70 crore.

As Vijay’s Thuppakki is all set to release for Deepavali, his fans in Kerala are upbeat. According to reports, his film will be screened in 111 screens in Kerala. This is for the first time, a Tamil film is releasing in these many theatres in Kerala. Thuppakki is produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu and directed by A R Murugadoss. It has Kajal Aggarwal in the lead and the music is by Harris Jayaraj. Vijay has crooned for a film after 6 years in Thuppakki. The film also marks Vijay’s entry into Tollywood, as it is simultaneously being released in Telugu under the same title.

Thats a lil surprising because the song Google Google has had a fair reach and is quite popular among the youth. All the other songs in the album are not that much in the news largely coz of the popularity of GG than anything else. I personally think this is Vijay's best album in a long time and all the songs are quite good.

Harris going downhill and sounding similar.
But the saving grace for Thupakki though is most of the songs in the album are a first for Vijay and hence Harris can breathe easy, atleast for the time being.
