Simply kidding mate..
The crowd response was awesome. I never had the feeling that I was watching the movie in another country. In Deira, ppl were silent as if they were mourning.

It's people like Mammooty who would start revolting such requests. I think they've done in the past when some tamil biggie did huge business over their mallu biggie. Can't remember the name.

A four crore for 'Thuppaki'
IndiaGlitz [Thursday, November 15, 2012] Comments
Ilayadhalapathi 'Vijay's latest Tamil film 'Thuppaki' is becoming an eye opener for the trade analysts of the state with its surprise initials. The movie which was released in 126 centres across the state is said to accumulate around four crores with its 2-day run, the best ever for a Tamil film in Kerala. The movie started screening in the wee hours of the release day. Special shows kickstarted by 4 am in the capital city while a release centre at Palakkad started it at 5 am. Many of the centres witnessed lathicharges before the ticket counters and were forced to go for a fifth show on the first day which resulted in almost 600 shows in a single day- a record number of screenings for any film in the state. This will make merry for its distributor Thammens who had bagged around 2 crores in two days as distributor share, making it another easy earner for them.
Meanwhile , Actor Vijay is all set to visit the state by the 19th of the month, to see the fans who has given a instant thumps up for his movie. The actor will be visiting the theatres at Calicut this time, where the movie is being screened in three different centres.
Interestingly it was the BigM's Malayalam films that thoroughly lost to the Vijay starrer. In much of the cities Mamootty's 'Jawan of Vellimala' was forced out of theatres while 'lal's Run baby Run' has almost stopped screening in much of the centres.
