சென்னை ருஷ்யக் கலாச்சார மய்யத்தின் 40வது ஆண்டு விழா விரைவில் நடைபெற உள்ளது. அதன் ஒரு பகுதியாக அயல் நாட்டு பிரமுகருக்கு நடிகர் திலகம் சிவாஜி கணேசன் பெயரால் விருது வழங்கப் பட உள்ளது. இது ஒரு மிகப் பெரிய பெருமையாகும். உலக அளவில் நடிகர் திலகத்தின் பெயரால் ஒரு விருது வழங்கப் படுவதும் அதனை வேற்று நாட்டினர் பெறுவதும் முதல் முறையாக நடைபெற உள்ளது. இவ் விழா டிசம்பர் 14ம் தேதியன்று நடக்கிறது. விவரங்கள் வெகு விரைவில். அனைத்து சிவாஜி ரசிகர்களும் தவறாமல் இவ்விழாவில் கலந்து கொண்டு வரலாற்றில் இடம் பெறும் வாய்ப்பினை பயன் படுத்திக் கொள்ள வேண்டும்.

Whether NT over-played or under-played he always made sure the respected scenes are thoroughly enjoyable. If we take his romantic scenes as examples; I can mention one for each. I watched ‘Irumbu thirai’ recently and it is one of the movies where NT showed his subtle but superb performance. There is a scene when NT describes Vyjayanthimala about his lady love and how he met her. It was funny but very sweet to watch. As NT describes it, Vyjayanthimala gets really jealous and knowing that, he carries on until he tells her how old they were then. Fantastic scene. Secondly, one of NT’s over-played romantic scenes is (there are many, but one I could remember at the moment ) in ‘Deivamagan’ where NT goes after Jayalalitha and makes funny moves to attract her attention. His body language is more than subtle but equally enjoyable and sweet!

With all due respect to your coinage 'over-play' and 'under-play', I beg to differ from views that our NT always portrays the character he plays showing how that particular character would act or react to that particular instance and not as you mentioned, this we can cite many examples and even our Mr.Ragavendra Sir too mentioned about this aspect in one of his write-ups. This is what my view too and kindly excuse me for that.

Plot:

The story begins when the Lord gives the sacred fruit brought by sage Narada to his elder son, Ganesha. His younger son Muruga becomes angry and thus goes to a hill abode of Palani Goddess Parvathi (known as Sakthi here) (Savitri) comes and narrates the Thiruvilayadalgal of Lord Shiva to Murugan, in order to calm him down.

PERFORMANCE:

As usual NT is back bone starting from scene 1 to climax he never acted we were seeing only Siva’s thurivilayadal.
Even in average films NT acting will be superb if it’s a good movie and handled by a director who can extract performance the result is thiruvilayadal. He even jumps 2 feet high in Rudra Thandavam(his stage experience might have helped him as stage actors must be well versed with dance, singing)
What to say be it as Lord Siva, Poet, Fisherman, Woodcutter all roles are top notch. I particularly loved fisherman’s walk along with re recording.
All other actors played their roles to near perfection no comments needed for nagesh as I had mentioned it earlier.
TS Mahalingam as Palapathrar is equally divine face with nice features and played his role his second innings started with this movie
Second best choice in acting in this movie after Nagesh is Balayya role as Hemanath Bagavadar, a nice singer with pride and arrogance. He has acted effortlessly in this movie
Savithri plays Paravathi she is divine in this movie
Songs and Lyrics by KVM & kaviarasar are treat , KP sundarambal is Avvai tailor made role for her.
