Vijay's resounding overseas success with Thuppakki
Thuppakki has met with success not only in the domestic markets of the country but also in key overseas markets like Malaysia, USA, UK and Australia. In Malaysia, till date, this Vijay starrer has collected a record 8.77 crores in Indian rupees (1.614 million USD). According to a noted trade analyst, Thuppakki has done fabulously in the other aforementioned overseas markets as well. In UK and Ireland, till date the collection is 1.68 crores (188,838 pounds) while in the USA, the film’s gross is 2.51 crores (452,734 USD) and Australia has resulted in returns amounting to 46.73 lakhs (80,264 ASD).This success proves that overseas markets are opening up to Tamil films as well and it’s not just about Hindi films. With more Tamil biggies slated in the coming weeks, we can expect the overseas market to continue booming.
