And also if same movie releases in all screens in same theatre, they will be allowed to run only for first weekend. Thats how distributors sign. This rule applies for small theatres in same area (eg : vettri theatre area). Small theatres will remove movie after first weekend.

It was good to see family audience last night at woodside cinema and out side -30 temperature. It was 50% occupancy. Watching 2nd time I even felt better than the first time.

Liked the comedy + tempo in first half. Liked the Buildup scene, Kannamoochi fight and Railway track scene in second half.

Super buildup + mass role for Thala. Never seen him in a movie like this.....good work by Siva.

Solid movie, i wouldn't be surprised if this movie falls under Super hit- Blockbuster category.

Awesome movie on the whole. No dull moment.

Hated Thangame song....Ajith should opt out of duets with Salt pepper looks or Dye his hair just for songs. He really needs to shed some weight though.

Thala Ajith is extremely happy with the box office performance of his latest film Veeram, directed by Siva. :pink:

The film that released on January 10th as a grand pongal release, has been declared as super hit already and still running to packed houses in the fourth week of its release. :thumbsup:

Latest we hear is that impressed with the working style of Siva, Ajith has reportedly expressed his wish to work with him again. As a result, a possible reunion of the Ajith-Siva duo is in the final stages of materializing and industry insiders say that it will be the next project of Ajith after completing his work for the Gautham Menon directed flick whose pooja is going to take place on February 6th.
Yesterday Siva, who has given two consecutive super hit films in Siruthai and Veeram has confirmed this in his twitter page. He has tweeted that he will be directing Ajith soon and it is an honor to work with the star again.

The post Pongal box-office is
encouraging, though there has been a marginal drop in collections. Ajith`s
Veeram continues to rock at the number one slot. All multiplexes in
Chennai city has given it the bigger audi, which is reflected in the
collections.

Jilla continues to hold on well and is in the second place. At number
three is the new entrant Goli Soda, which started slowly but picked up
due to rave reviews and strong WOM.
Salman Khan`s Jai Ho opened well on Friday but there has been a drop
due to mixed reports and is at number four. In the fifth place is the Hollywood

He might be from Trivandrum.. in the places like Vizhinjam Thala has huge fan following, have witnessed myself with plenty of Fan club boards than any other actors even now.. but if it is overall kerala.. a big no.. Vijay has bigger fan following than Thala.. Ajith used to enjoy a bigger fan following than any other non-malayala actor ( in his generation) during late 90'a early '00s.. he lost it after those Red-jana-Anjeneya period.. but i can see lot of changes since Mankatha.. :thumbsup:

watched 2nd time with family .. everyone enjoyed.. a movie can be watched again and again..

what ever may be the collection and fights with other actor fans.. Ajith as a person always stands out.. admire him more for his guts, confident without not even a bit of in-security feeling. Ajith always surprises me when i think about him.

Wonder how he decided to do a movie with salt n pepper look.. and continued till veeram that too with veshti-sattai.. hats off to his guts. i wonder is there any guy who is willing to go out with his wife or gf without hair dye! or just even go out and face a girl without dyeing his hair!
One should be least bothered about his/her future or should be confident about self to face and go ahead to create opportunity for his/her future, to dismantle his/her fans association.
he can very well run a flop film in a theater by giving money and make a record on book saying it crossed 100 days.. but he accepts flop as flop. how can he accept this? I am just seeing everyone of us , including me.. how many times we accept our failure as failure?!
how he decided not to go to any function when his peers and small actors always wish to be on lime light?
happen to see his interview videos posted on hub by fans.. surprised to see and hear his clear thought in early stage about his films, what he wish to do, advice to his fans, the humbleness, no wonder he has everything within himself and is part of his character.
Rather than Ajith himself i think many a times, many others were thinking he is no more.. there were at times his peers where thinking that he has no future in films.. As a true fan i myself used to think why cant he choose good films, why cant he continue in films rather going for car race.. but he always been a person who can be looked upon to be a good human whether it is society, family, or to self..
I see Ajith as fearless person., which makes him to take above steps.. he is clear and he knows what he wish to do. he takes care of the people around him..and he is happy in what he does.
Dialogue in veeram ' nee poita poita nu ninacha thirumba thirumba elunthirichu variye da' (may be not same dialogue but with similar meaning) linger in mind always after seeing veeram.

most of us.. or all of us act in this 'fear of what other people think, either within family or friends or colleagues or 3rd person' circle.. one's life will be enlighten when one comes out this circle.

Veeram Michi Brindhavan can be called like Family masala Triology...always feel Thala should these remake or such films in tamil...That Family audience weakness will totally disappaer...will take him to new level

Watched veeram. Liked it. Ajith's commanding screen presence, make over, humour makes the first half highly enjoyable. Second half is full of cliches leading to a predictable climax, that's not to say it isn't entertaining. My only problem is the makeover in second half. While Ajith looked handsome and rugged in first half, second half had him looking old( a little spend on hair dye wod have worked wonders) and unrealistic (seriously which dad would want a son in law who looks his age?) I don't expect world class cinema from our top stars (this isn't said in a condescending tone) Veeram thoroughly satisfied the C center fan in me. Both Jilla and Veeram don't have an ounce of story, or even class, despite all that neither of them failed to entertain me anyway. Good Pongal for the top stars of tamil cinema indeed. VEERAM- a racy commerical entertainer. The best one among the last 3 releases of Ajith just for the unpretentious village attire and character. Please get rid of the salt and pepper just like the blazers and coolers and you have a promising position in the top league Ajith.

Its not far away. And FYI Rajni was the first one to provide refund to distributors.

Ajith has done it for very many films including his latest debacles like Asal and Billa-2 as far as I can re-collect. That indirectly put pressure on Vijay to do the same. Thala was the first in his generation of actors to take a initiative if producer incurs loss.

A record number of 17 Tamil straight films were released in January 2014. It works out to an average of almost a release every two days. At the moment it is totally chaotic in Kollywood, with shelf life of a film reduced to hardly a week!

Getting a theatre release is priority for producers, even if it is only a single show in a small screen. The mad rush has resulted in some films which open badly on Friday to be replaced by a more successful film by Sunday!

One of the films which released last Friday was replaced with a proven hit like Veeram in a couple of screens, as it could get more audiences on a Sunday than a new release. Another film which released in the big screen of a complex was taken off after one show and shifted to smaller screen. Goli Soda which was playing at the small screen was promoted to the big screen.

Director Siva may direct Bollywood Superstar Salman Khan in the near future. This will be the remake of the director's latest super hit film Veeram that starred Ajith and Tamannah in the lead roles.

In a recent press meet held on behalf of his latest Hindi film Jai Ho, Salman Khan has stated that he is not averse to act in the remakes of South Indian films. After this, Pritish Nandhi who has purchased the Hindi remake rights of Veeram has approached the Bollywood's most eligible bachelor and the star is likely to give a nod for the project. Jacqueline Fernandes has been finalized to play the role played by Tamannah in the Tamil version.

Sources say that Siva is currently stationed in Mehboob studios in Mumbai heading the discussions to make the necessary changes in the script in order to suit the taste and preferences of Bollywood fans.

If Salman Khan commits himself to the project it will be the first time, the actor reprising a role played by Ajith. Earlier he starred in the Hindi remake of Malayalam film Bodyguard, whose Tamil version titled as Kavalan, had Vijay playing the lead role.

அதோடு, அஜீத்தே தமன்னாவுக்கு சான்ஸ் கொடுத்திருக்கும்போது நாமும் கொடுத்தாலென்ன என்ற முடிவுக்கு மேலும் சில மேல்தட்டு ஹீரோக்களும் வந்திருப்பதால், சத்தமில்லாமல் சில புதிய படங்களுக்கான பேச்சுவார்த்தையிலும் ஈடுபட்டுள்ளார் தமன்னா.

இந்த நேரத்தில், தெலுங்கில் ராஜமவுலி இயக்கத்தில் அனுஷ்கா நடிக்கும் படத்திலும், அடுத்தபடியாக, மகேஷ்பாபு நடிக்கும் ஆகடு என்ற படத்தில் தற்போது நடித்துக்கொண்டிருக்கிறார்.

ஏற்கனவே தெலுங்கில் ஒரு பெரும் கலக்கு கலக்கி ஆந்திர ரசிகர்களுக்கு கவர்ச்சி அட்டாக் கொடுத்த தமன்னா, இந்த முறை, இன்னும் அதிரடி அட்டாக் கொடுக்கும் வகையில், கிளாமர் காஸ்டியூமில் நடித்து டோட்டல் யூனிட்டையே கலங்கடித்துக்கொண்டிருக்கிறாராம்.

இந்த சேதி ஆந்திராவில் பரவியதையடுத்து, தமன்னாவுடன் ஏற்கனவே நடித்த ஹீரோக்களே அடுத்த ரவுண்ட்டை அவருடன் சேர்ந்து அமர்க்களமாக ஆரம்பிக்க வட்டம் போடத் தொடங்கி விட்டார்களாம்.

இதனால் ஏக குஷியில் இருக்கும் தமன்னா, சமீபகாலமாக மும்பையில் முகாமிட்டபடி ஐதராபாத்துக்கு விஜயம் செய்து கொண்டிருந்தவர், இப்போது ஆந்திராவிலேயே செட்டிலாகி விட்டார். கூடவே தனது படக்கூலியையும் தாறுமாறாக உயர்த்தி விட்டுள்ளாராம்.

Ajith Kumar seems to be on a dream run as his last few movies registered marvelous collections at the Box Office. :thumbsup:

Some of his films in the recent years have made amazing business and reinstated his stardom in Kollywood.
His latest movie Veeram could be special for him as the film was directly pitched against Vijay's Jilla.

The interesting part of the story is that Thala has a delivered a Blockbuster in spite of facing a huge competition. :happydance:

The actor's star power has worked big time again. Ajith Kumar's Veeram was released for this Pongal with never-before hype. The success of his last movie Arrambam had made people to pin high hopes on his latest Tamil flick. On January 10, the film saw the light of the day along with Vijay's Jilla. Many were skeptical about the content as it had a look of 90s Tamil films. But the film turned out to garner positive reviews in large. Veeram was released in about 750 screens worldwide and in 350+ screen in Tamil Nadu.

On the first day, as expected, the film made earth-shattering business. :wink:
