Ahead of the release of Arrambam, Behindwoods brings you some interesting tidbits about the movie.

Before fixing on the title Arrambam, director Vishnuvardhan had about 4 to 4.5 pages of title options and it wasn't any marketing strategy to hold back the title. The team was looking for something that would suit the story and hence waited long for the final choice. They announced it as soon as they fixed the title.

Neil Roy has done the title design, with the power button taking a prominent place, and Neil has worked on all Vishnuvardhan title designs including the much-loved Billa logo.

The team has used different masters for different action sequences and songs, based on the theme of that particular sequence. Choreographer Dinesh has done the choreography for two songs and Shobi has choreographed the song "En Fuse Pochu".

The story of Arrambam was not written specifically for Ajith. He would be seen just as the character that he plays in the film and his role wasn't modified for the sake of his mass image.

The movie introduces Akshara Gowda in a prominent character role. She plays the daughter of Mahesh Manjrekar, who is also marking his debut in Tamil films. Akshara Gowda will appear in the much hyped boat chase sequence.

Nayanthara has a played a role which is beyond glamour. She apparently is involved in some surprising stunt sequences.

The total run time of Arrambam is more than 2 hours. Precisely "2 hours and tic toc tic toc" - Ajith i-shtyle.

'Thala' Ajith's 'Arrambam' is red hot!

Ajith’s Vishnuvardhan directed Arrambam is the hottest film in recent times. No film has been able to create so much hype and expectation before release. For the last one month the film has been the hottest topic of discussion on the social networking sites.

The hype and expectation meter has given a big push to the film’s marketing and sales. All territories have been sold out and in Tamil Nadu in some areas the second sales is taking part. It means somebody buying an area and later selling it out for a higher price.

In Tamil Nadu the most lucrative area for a Ajith mass film is NSC (North Arcot-South Arcot – Chengalpet) area. Recently Ayngaran had brought the area from the producer and he is now splitting it into three and making more money.

Leading veteran producer, director and distributor Ramanarayanan has purchased the Chengalpet area of the film at a whopping cost. Ramanarayanan is getting fabulous MG (Minimum Guarantee) offers from various screens in Chengalpet area.

By the look of it Arrambam is surely going to take a gargantuan opening. The film censored with a U certificate is scheduled to release on October 31.

Having already worked on films like Naanayam, Neethane En Ponvasantham and Vaagai Sooda Vaa, Arrambam's cameraman Om Prakash says it is the professionalism of the lead actor that brings the best out of any cameraman.

The first eye to witness any film is the eye of the cameraman and when the cameraman endorses that his creation gets better with professionalism, it just goes to show how much more one gets when you have a senior and dedicated actor like Ajith donning the screen.

Praising the dedication, professionalism and motivation of Ajith, Om Prakash says

"With a keen eye for detail and amazing camera sense, Ajith Sir got into the thick of things during the shoot and didn't forego any opportunity to give positive feedback to me - a huge motivation for me and something that made me push myself to the limit

Ajith's accident was widely covered and seen by all, and giving an insight into the same Om Prakash says

"The car was travelling at over 100 km/hr. The scene was for over 7 minutes where Ajith Sir's knee was getting battered on the bonnet of the car he fell on. I was just recording the emotions on his face without realizing what Ajith Sir was going through, he didnt even wince for a second and his first show of emotion came after the director said shot ok. The entire unit was scared for Ajith Sir but he comforted all of us by asking us to relax in spite of the pain. Dawn next day the expectation was he would not turn for the shoot but he was the first person on the set with the clear intention of completing the sequence by himself and not using a body double, dedication at its height is what I would say and inspiration unlimited"

"Although this was a long schedule it was a lot of fun, with Arya around there was no shortage of pranks. Arya again was at his funny best off the screen and when the moment the shot was ready he went into the zone, another actor par excellence

People who have got a chance to watch the film ask me, with so many action sequences and chases how difficult was it to shoot. I would say it is very easy to station the camera at a point and shoot all day long but the fun and challenge is only when you have tough and diverse conditions with the lead actor ready to go the extra mile and get things going in the right direction. Well, Behindwoods brings you a latest tidbit that has seeped into our news desk. The news is that Ajith's character name in the movie will be 'Ashok'.

From Vinayak, the ruthless police officer in Mankatha and David Billa, the underworld don in Billa, Ajith will now be called Ashok, whose character would undoubtedly be an exciting one.

It releases with Azhagu Raja on 01/11 in the rest of the cinema halls (but AR theater list is still not known)
What to be noted is they got 5 shows (a rarity in France) + the screens for Avant-Première & FDFS is huge.
Rest of the theater list is almost identical to Thalaiva, but more shows.
Maybe they will add more, they are waiting for the other regions confirmation, still got one more week. U certificate is a big Plus (at least here)

We are just 8 days away from the biggest movie event of the year – Arrambam. The buzz in the air is palpable and Ajith fans are making all possible arrangements to make the release of the movie, a huge spectacle in itself. Arrambam’s PR machinery is doing a very good job in revealing constant news updates, new stills and other titbits, interviews about the movie. As a result, the social media space is replete with all manner of Arrambam posts and updates. Countless likes, shares, comments and re-tweets are the order of the day.
To keep this fever running and at the same time take a more insightful look at Arrambam, let’s do a little SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) analysis and analyze the movie from various angles.

Strengths


Obviously, the star power of Ajith and his action-packed avatar count as the biggest USP of Arrambam. The star is in top form on the evidence of the trailers, and his risky stunts (supervised by Hollywood masters) and salt ’n’ pepper demeanour are bound to be treats to his loyal followers.
The return of the Billa team - Ajith, Vishnu and Yuvan has spelt good fortune for the movie from a business perspective and also in generating big buzz.
Yuvan’s prowess at BGM scores is well-known and his work for the trailer was pulsating. Much more is expected from the movie’s BGM score.
The movie has been shot extensively in Mumbai and Dubai and Om Prakash’s work behind the camera is expected to give the viewers an engaging experience, to say the least.
Veteran producer A.M.Rathnam is back and his body of work is in itself, ample proof of his calibre and choice of projects. Arrambam may be another illustrious addition to this visionary producer’s CV which comprises much-loved movies such as Indian, Ghilli, 7G and Dhool to name a few.
The star power in Arrambam packs a lot of muscle and not every release has the likes of Ajith (the king of opening), Nayanthara (the queen of opening), Arya (slowly but strongly becoming a bankable star at the box office), Taapsee and Rana. So many stars for the price of one ticket!
The support cast is also equally heavyweight – Atul Kulkarni, Mahesh Manjrekar and Kishore. These actors would have surely invested all their might to make their roles memorable.
The movie’s U certificate has opened it up to all sections of the audience and also the all-important entertainment tax exemption. Not to forget, unhindered telecasts on television.
Arrambam is rumoured to be based on the 2008 Mumbai blasts and with Ajith’s character name Ashok, reminding us of the late Additional Commissioner of Mumbai Police, Ashok Kamte, various theories about the movie’s plot are being discussed vigorously in the online space. The expectation meter is shooting up indeed.
Weaknesses


The big prevailing hype may work against the movie and if the movie’s content doesn’t live up to its billing, like what happened with the hugely hyped Billa 2, the prospects of a lot of people in the trade would be affected.
Like how Arya says in the trailer, the extensive presence of guns and action sequences, might not appeal to the family audiences. But, the U certificate is reassuring to an extent, that families would also enjoy the movie.
Slick action thrillers such as Arrambam are generally not accepted with wide open arms beyond the urban centres. But Ajith’s mass following can help the movie seep into the interiors too.
Opportunities


Ajith can establish himself in the Andhra market with the movie’s Telugu dubbed version, Aata Arambham. With the presence of a popular Telugu star such as Rana and also the universally popular Nayanthara, the Telugu version is also expected to take a decent opening. A.M.Rathnam knows the Andhra market inside-out and Ajith would be hoping for his first clean hit in Andhra, this time.
The box-office in Tamil Nadu would be seeing Arrambam as their cash-cow this season.
With record releases in overseas markets such as US, France and other nations, Ajith has the opportunity to wave his flag high beyond Indian shores too, provided the movie receives good appreciation from the audience.

if this Movie is half as good as mankantha , we got a sure winner here ! I don't think other typical masalas will have any chance of competing with this one. Krrish 3 may take some moolah and lime lite (Not sure what Mickey mouse voiced superman upto) will see.

Here, its having a tough time with Thor which is releasing on 30/10 also. The problem is with getting screens + Ayngaran has Azhagu Raja too (which is screened from 01/11). I think US will have a similar situation, that's why the theaters are not yet confirmed there.

Just was checking the competition with Krrish. Krrish is scheduled to release on 01/11 in Cinema Gaumont thru Aanna Films. But the theaters are yet to be confirmed (Again namba Thor suthi-ala Krrish-a kotitaru). But from 20/11 the theater list is ready.

Add in the 4th Promo video of Krrish, where you have clips of all Super Hero movies including Endhiran and Ra1 under 1m (WoW), it looks more like a spoof. Is Papa Roshan dreaming of making 1000 Cr with this product !?! My 1st impression is that it would be more like "Shakthimaan having coffee with X-Men Villans"

So no to limited competition from Krrish. Arrambham should do well, of coarse if the movie is good.

With 16 screens and 5 shows a day for 2 30+ mins film run time, you can get maximum 85-90 shows. Now it depends on Arrambam movie length

News Arrambam (aka) Aarambam is set for a record opening on 31st
It's an Arrambam Avalanche !!!

Ajith's Arrambam is just 3 and a half days away from release and the movie's advance bookings have opened in many theaters across Chennai city. There is just one word to describe the advance bookings and the extent of screens that the movie has (particularly on 31st and 1st) - PHENOMENAL.

Many theaters are also slated to screen special shows around 4 to 5 am on 31st, to cash in on the Himalayan buzz for the movie. Tickets for these special shows would have to be procured directly at theaters, according to the online buzz.

ரொம்ப நல்லாயிருக்குனு சொன்னார். இது என்னோட சிறந்த படங்கள்ல ஒண்ணு. ரொம்ப நன்றி விஷ்ணு அப்படினு சொன்னார். சார்.. நான் தான் உங்களுக்கு நன்றி சொல்லணும்னு சொன்னேன். குடும்பத்தோட படம் பாத்துட்டு, என்கிட்ட ஜாமி (ஆர்யா) பத்தி தான் ரொம்ப பேசினாரு. ரொம்ப நல்லா பண்ணியிருக்கான்னு பாராட்டினாரு.

இந்தப் படத்தோட சிறப்பம்சமே படத்தோட கதை தான் விஷ்ணு. நான் ஒரு நல்ல கேரக்டர் பண்ணிருக்கேன். மொத்த படமா பார்த்தா, எல்லாருமே அவங்கங்க கேரக்டர்ல ரொம்ப நல்லா, பிரமாதமா நடிச்சுருக்காங்க. எப்போதுமே என்னோட படங்கள்ல என்னோட கேரக்டருக்குத் தான் முக்கியத்துவம் இருக்கும். மத்தவங்களும் நடிச்சிருப்பாங்க. ஆனா இந்த படம் அப்படியில்லைனு ரொம்ப பாராட்டினார். எனக்கு ரொம்ப சந்தோஷமாக இருந்துச்சு.

ஆக்*ஷனுக்கு அஜித், ரொமான்ஸுக்கு ஆர்யாவா..?

அப்படியெல்லாம் கிடையாது. படம் பாத்தீங்கன்னா தெரியும். இது ஒரு ஆக்*ஷன் டிராமா. காமெடிக்காக சந்தானத்தையும், ரொமான்ஸ்க்காக ஆர்யாவையும், ஆக்*ஷனுக்கு அஜித்தையும் யூஸ் பண்ணா அது தப்பான படம். படத்துல ஆர்யா முக்கியமான கேரக்டர் பண்ணிருக்காரு. அஜித்துக்கு இணையா ஆர்யாவுக்கு நிறைய காட்சிகள் இருக்கு.

ஸ்டில்ஸ் எல்லாம் பார்க்கும் போது அஜித் போலீஸ் வேடத்துல நடிச்சுருக்காரா..?

இப்படிக் கேட்டா நான் என்ன பதில் சொல்ல முடியும். படம் பாத்து தெரிஞ்சுக்கிட்டுமே. இப்பவே அஜித்துக்கு இந்த ரோல் அப்படின்னா, படம் பாக்குற அப்போ அந்த எதிர்பார்ப்பு இருக்காது. அதனால இந்த கேள்விக்கு நான் பதில் சொல்ல விரும்பல.

பெரிய பட்ஜெட், நிறைய நடிகர்கள் கொண்ட படத்தை முடிச்சாச்சு.. அடுத்த ப்ளான் என்ன?

எனக்கே தெரியல. என்னோட எல்லா படங்களையும் அப்படித்தான் பண்ணிருக்கேன். மற்ற இயக்குநர்கள் மாதிரி படம் முடியும் முன்பே, அடுத்த படத்துக்காக அட்வான்ஸை வாங்கி வச்சுக்குற ஆள் நான் இல்ல. படம் ரிலீஸான உடனே கொஞ்சம் ரெஸ்ட் எடுத்துட்டு, அப்புறமா தான் ப்ளான் பண்ணுவேன். என்ன கதை பண்ணலாம்னு யோசிப்பேன். அடுத்த படத்தை பத்தி எனக்கு யோசிக்க கூட இப்ப டைமில்லை. அந்தளவிற்கு 'ஆரம்பம்' பணிகளுக்காக ஓடிட்டு இருக்கேன்.

'ஆரம்பம்' படத்தின் இந்தி ரீமேக் பண்ணச் சொன்னா பண்ணுவீங்களா?

கண்டிப்பா பண்ணுவேன். இதுல என்ன தப்பிருக்கு. இப்பவே நிறைய பேர் பட வெளியீட்டிற்காக காத்துட்டு இருக்காங்க. பாக்கலாம்.. படம் வெளியாகி எல்லாம் நல்லபடியா அமைஞ்ச இயக்க தயாரா இருக்கேன்.

இந்தில பண்ணா அஜித், ஆர்யா ரோல்ல எல்லாம் யார் நடிச்சா நல்லாயிருக்கும்..?

தெரியல. எல்லாக் கேள்விக்கும் படம் ரிலீஸான உடனே தான் பதில் கிடைக்கும். இப்பவே படத்தை இந்தி நடிகர் யாருக்காவது போட்டுக் காட்டி, அப்படியே அவரை வெச்சு ஒரு இந்தி படம் பண்ணிரனும் அப்படினு எல்லாம் நான் ப்ளான் பண்ணல. இந்தி படம் பேசிக்கிட்டிருக்கேன். ஆனால் அது 'ஆரம்பம்' ரீமேக் கிடையாது. இப்பவே அஜித், ஆர்யா வேஷத்துல யார் நடிச்சா நல்லாயிருக்கும் கேட்டா எனக்கிட்ட பதில் இல்லை. ஏன்னா யார் நடிச்சா நல்லாயிருக்கு, அஜித் சார் இமேஜ் யாருக்கு செட்டாகும், அப்படினு நிறைய விஷயங்கள் உட்காந்து பேசி முடிவு பண்ணனும். இப்படி நிறைய விஷயங்கள் இருக்கு.

'ஆரம்பம்' படத்தப் பத்தி இணையத்துல இருக்க, முக்கியமா டிவிட்டர்ல இருக்க பரபரப்பை எல்லாம் கவனிக்குறீங்களா?

இல்லைங்க.. காரணம், எனக்கு நேரமில்லை. ட்விட்டர் பக்கம் கூட இப்போ நான் போறதில்லை. 2 நாளைக்கு ஒரு தடவை #Arrambam டிரெண்டாவது பத்தி எல்லாம் சொல்லுவாங்க.. பார்ப்பேன். ஆனா அதுக்காக அதுல ரொம்ப கவனம் செலுத்த மாட்டேன். ஏன்னா எனக்கு பயம்.

என்னை ட்விட்டருக்கு கொண்டு வந்ததே யுவன் தான். ஆரம்பிச்சு விட்டுட்டான். அதனால எப்போதாவது எனக்கு தோணுறதா ட்வீட் பண்ணிட்டு வந்துருவேன். என்னையே ரொம்ப கேவலமா திட்டி எல்லாம் அனுப்புவாங்க. ஆனா, என்னோட அசிஸ்டன்ஸ் இருப்பாங்க.. படம் இன்றைக்கு சென்சார் அப்படினு நிறைய ட்வீட் பண்ணுவாங்க. வித்தியாசமான ஏதாவதுன்னா சொல்லுவாங்க.. நானும் பார்ப்பேன்.

எவ்வளவு HYPE இருக்கோ.. அதே மாதிரி SWORD FISH ரீமேக், தீவிரவாதிகளை மையப்படுத்திய படம் தான் 'ஆரம்பம்'னு எதிர்மறையான விமர்சனங்களும் வருதே?

இது எந்த படத்தோட ரீமேக்கும் கிடையாது. ஒருத்தன் துப்பாக்கி தூக்கி சண்டை போடுறான்னு எடுத்தா அதே மாதிரி நிறைய படங்கள் வந்திருக்கும். அதுக்காக இது அந்தப்படத்தோட காப்பினு சொல்லக்கூடாது. ஊழலை எதிர்த்து போராடுறான், லவ் பண்றான்னு இப்படி எதைப் பத்தி எடுத்தாலும் உடனே காப்பினு சொல்ல முடியாது. அது ஒரு முட்டாள்த்தனம். அப்படி சொல்றவங்க தான் ஒரு புத்திசாலினு காட்டிக்கறதுக்காக இப்படி சொல்லிட்டு இருக்காங்க.

உண்மை சம்பவம்ன்னா மும்பை தீவிரவாதிகள் தாக்குதலா?

அப்படிச் சொல்ல முடியாது. தீவிரவாத தாக்குதல், ஊழல், இப்படி நிறைய இருக்கு. டெல்லி, இந்தியா, அமெரிக்கா இப்படி எல்லா இடத்துலயும் ஊழல் இருக்கு. உடனே நான் ஊழலைப் பத்தி படம் எடுக்கிறேன்னு சொன்னா. நான் காலி. கதையே பாம்பேல நடக்குற மாதிரி எடுத்துருக்கேன். குண்டுவெடிப்பு உள்ளிட்ட சம்பவங்கள் அங்கே நடக்கற மாதிரி எடுத்தா தான் நல்லாயிருக்கும். நான் சென்னைல நடக்கற மாதிரி எடுத்தேன்னா, அதை மாதிரி முட்டாள் தனம் எதுவுமே கிடையாது. ஏன்னா அதே மாதிரி சம்பவங்கள் இங்க அவ்வளவா நடக்குறதில்லை. இதே நான் பாம்பே நடக்குதுனு சொன்னா நம்புவீங்க. அது தான் முக்கியம்.

பத்து பெண்கள் கற்பழிப்பு பத்தி கதைன்னா அதை எங்கு வேணுமானாலும் நடக்கறதா கதை பண்ணலாம். அது எங்கனாலும் நடக்கும். பாம்பே மாதிரியான நகரங்கள்ல நீங்க எந்த மாதிரியான கதைகளையும் எடுக்கலாம். அங்கே தமிழர்களே இல்லையே அப்படினு நீங்க சொல்ல முடியாது. நான் சொல்லிருக்குற விஷயங்கள் எல்லாமே நம்பற மாதிரி இருக்குற இடம் பாம்பே. அதனால அங்கு வெச்சு எடுத்தேன்.

படம் பாத்த வரைக்கும் எல்லாருக்குமே படம் பிடிச்சிருக்கு. என்னைப் பொருத்தவரைக்கும் இது ஒரு அஜித் படம். எந்தொரு படமெடுத்தாலும் அதுல நாயகன்னு ஒருத்தர் இருப்பாரு. அஜித்தை சுத்தித்தான் கதை நடக்கும். மொத்தத்துல அஜித்தை வச்சு ஒரு சூப்பரான கதை ஒண்ணு பண்ணிருக்கேன். இது ஒரு கேங்க்ஸ்டர் படம் கிடையாது. எனக்கும் சரி, அஜித்திற்கு சரி இது ஒரு புதுமையான களம்.

ஸ்கிரீன்ல பாக்குற அப்போ ரசிகர்களுக்கு புதுசாயிருக்கும். அதை மட்டும் நீங்க உறுதியா நம்பலாம். கண்டிப்பா எல்லாரும் தியேட்டர்ல போய் படம் பாருங்க. திருட்டு டி.வி.டில, இணையத்துல எல்லாம் பாக்காதீங்க. ரொம்ப கஷ்டப்பட்டு பண்ணியிருக்கோம்.படம் பாத்துட்டு நீங்க சொல்ற பதிலுக்காக, ஒரு இயக்குநரா காத்துட்டு இருக்கேன். அனைவருக்கும் 'ஆரம்பம்' படக்குழுவினரின் 'தல' தீபாவளி வாழ்த்துகள்.

இருந்ததால் இன்னொரு ஹீரோவும் தேவைப்பட்டார். அஜித் சார்கிட்டே தயக்கமே இல்லை. ‘நல்லா சேர்த்துக்கங்க, அது யார்’னு கேட்டார். ஆர்யான்னு சொன்னதும், ‘ரொம்ப நல்லாயிருக்கு’ன்னு சொல்லிட்டார். அப்புறம் கிஷோர், அதுல் குல்கர்னி, மகேஷ் மஞ்ரேக்கர், சுமன் ரங்கநாத், அக்ஷரா கௌடா, ராணான்னு நடிகர்கள் லிஸ்ட் பெரிசாகிட்டே போயிடுச்சி. எல்லாத்துக்கும் அஜித்கிட்ட புன்சிரிப்பு.

அவருடைய அசராத நம்பிக்கையை நான் சாதாரணமா நினைக்கலை. தமிழில் அரிய விஷயம் இது!’’

With Arrambam's release just 2 days away, folks around the state are trying their best to get their hands on tickets for the movie in the first weekend. Director Vishnuvardhan seems confident about the movie and is sure that Arrambam would be a new benchmark for Ajith, both from a box-office perspective and from masses perspective.

"In the movie, Ajith would be fighting for justice and he plays a socially conscious person. All the other stars in the movie would also be having their own defined parts in the movie. Ajith looks really handsome and has done his best to be agile. He has also shown a new side at being ferocious and romantic. This would be a new experience for the audience. His tears while expressing grief would also be stunning. Only a person who has really understood the story can exhibit such a performance.

I am forever surprised by Ajith. He is the most handsome, has achieved many laurels, has such fame and following among the audience. Yet, he works sincerely hard as if it is his first film. If everyone applauds him, then it is indeed for a solid reason."

Within 20 minutes after the booking plans opened for Arrambam last night, the tickets were sold like hot cakes. Mayajaal screens 91 shows and if you’re to glimpse on its website, you’ll know the exact picture of booking plans status. Apparently, Satyam Cinemas screens the film in three of its major theatres for the opening week. It has naturally paved way for more excitements and expectations on the film.

Multiplexes and single-screen theatres across the State are looking to make a killing this Deepavali with Ajith’s Arrambam. Armed with loads of hype and a huge cast that includes Nayanthara, Arya, Rana Daggubati and Taapsee Pannu, quite a few multiplexes in the city have planned to pull out all other movies to accomodate Arrambam, from October 31. Ironically, theatre owners do not seem particularly worried that it may be an overkill because the shows are already sold out.

Sample a few of these numbers on theatre websites – Abirami Cinemas has listed as many as 16 shows daily, while the AGS group (with two multiplexes in Navalur and Villivakkam) has listed a whopping 36 shows a day. With multiplexes going all out to cash in on the surge following an Ajith release, single screens will not think twice about following suit. Even theatres like Woodlands and Rohini have opted to screen Arrambam on extra screens at least over the weekend. And needless to say, all show timings are highlighted in red, indicating that they’re SOLD OUT.

There have also been rumours flying around about special shows being screened from 5 am onward, but the distributors are mum on that front, “Technically it is against the rules, but we have heard that the distributors tried to speak with the authorities to see if they could allow special screenings on the days leading up to Deepavali (November 2) alone. We are hoping it will fall through,” said a source at the Film Chamber.

What is astonishing is that all this hype has developed despite the damp squib that Ajith’s last release – Billa II, turned out to be. “Thala works magic only during Deepavali. It worked for Attakasam and Mankatha and it will work for Arrambam too,” said Mani Vasagam, the moderator of an online fan community for Ajith.

Another major reason for the hype is because the actor, popularly called Thala by his fans, is teaming up with filmmaker Vishnuvardhan again – the man who resurrected his flagging career with the slickly rebooted Billa (2007). With brisk booking in the UK, US and Middle East, the distributors have indicated that Arrambam is slated to release on 700+ screens in the South. Trade analysts have remained cautious and said that anything over 450-500 screens could not be possible in a State that has only 976 theatres.

Though Vishal’s Paandiyanaadu and Karthi’s All in All Azhagu Raja are believed to be in the Deepavali fray alongside Hrithik Roshan’s Krrish 3, it looks like theatres this weekend have been taken over by Thala fans.

:banghead: imo, this is not good. when Ajith doesn't want to come for promotions even after producer's request. this is Ajith's wish and when he can be away from the promotions, he must not instruct the producers not to hold preview/special shows etc. When Ajith feels he has completed acting in a movie and wants to move on, he has to respect the producer's opinion of selling the movie as it is upto them on how they market and take it to the next level and Ajith must not interfere in the producer's affair as long as it doesn't affect him.

I hope the above tweet by Sridhar Pillai is not true. I don't think Ajith would have instructed the producers but if done so, I am totally disappointed and I don't support this action from Ajith. :(

in UK cineworld it is listed as 157 minutes i.e. 2 hours 37 mins. and somewhere I guess in US or some other international listing it as 2 hours 40 mins. I guess the timing is fine.

Also I read some news tweet that they are planning to remove Hare Rama song to make it more racy, then it would come down to 2 hours and 30 mins.

In Kumbakonam theatres. they are planning for a 1 hours pre-show on Ajith's life before the start of the movie. :shock: again this is a news from tweet. don't know how far these are true. we will get to know later only.

A fantastic opening weekend ahead for Arrambam

Here, we present to you an update about Arrambam from the Coimbatore territory comprising Coimbatore city, Tiruppur, Erode and Ooty, where Cosmo Pictures is releasing the movie.

Coimbatore City
About 90% of tickets have been sold out in advance for the first 4 days in the city and the 4 days gross from the city is expected to cross 1 crores. The first day has been completely sold out with even theaters which are set to screen Azhaguraja and Pandianadu accommodating Arrambam on 31st and 1st, in all their shows. About 15 screens in Coimbatore city would be screening Arrambam on the first two days with about 7 screens retaining the movie from 2nd onwards. Even on Diwali day and on 3rd, those theaters screening Azhaguraja and Pandianadu will be holding special shows for Arrambam.

Including Tiruppur, Erode, Ooty and Coimbatore city, Arrambam would be screened in 44 centers from 2nd onwards with the first 2 days seeing a much higher screen count (around 75), thanks to the demand and the early release.
