Samantha to reign Tollywood?

Samantha will join the
shoot of auteur
Manirathnam`s new love
story from February 11
onwards.
She will be shooting for 10 days in this schedule and
then will move on to her Telugu movies.
Maniratnam has announced the film officially that
introduces Karthik`s son Gautham as hero. The film is
titled Kadal in Tamil meaning `Sea`. Probably, it
would be titled Kadali in Telugu.
Samantha said doing Maniratnam`s movie is a dream
come true. "Every actor in India nurtures the dream of
doing Mani sir`s film. I am fortunate to get the chance
so early in my career," she told the media recently
after launching a showroom in Hyderabad.
In Tollywood, Samantha is inching towards No.1
position as she has six films in her kitty this year.
Her line up of films in 2012 are:
Rajamouli`s Eega (set for summer release)
Gautham Menon`s film (set for late summer
release)
Naga Chaitanya`s Autonagar Surya
Mahesh Babu`s Seetamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu
(Dussera release)
Ram Charan`s Yevadu

Samantha beats Kajal, Tamannaah-times of india

Acting means a rat race some people say and involves the number game. So who is ace- ing it right now? She was introduced in a small budget film in 2010 starring Adharvaa and directed by Badri Venkatesh.
Today, Samantha Ruth Prabhu is the actress who is most wanted by directors in Tamil and Telugu cinema. She was introduced by Gautham Menon in T-Town with his Telugu remake of Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya (Ye Maaya Chesave) with Naga Chaitanya and since then, there has been no looking back!
Currently, sitting pretty at the top of the league, Samantha pockets a cool 1 crore for her films. And this despite her not having a single release as a lead heroine in Tamil!
While Anushka Shetty, who's said to charge 1.5 cr per movie, is her closest rival in terms of bagging A-list projects, the young actress has dethroned her - Samantha has already bagged Gautham Menon trilingual project and Mani Ratnam's Kadal; sources say some more big projects are in the pipeline, including Shankar's next with Vikram.
Kajal Aggarwal and Tamannaah, say industry insiders, are at No 2 and No 3 respectively in Tollywood. However, this is not the scene in Kollywood. Tamannaah seems to have virtually disappeared from the Tamil film industry post her disastrous movie Venghai with Dhanush. However, Kajal has managed to keep herself in top 5 in Kollywood by bagging Vijay's Thuppaki and Suriya's Maatrraaan.
While Kajal is said to charge 1 crore per flick, Tamannaah is apparently getting between 70-80 lakh per film. Surprisingly, these two actresses are even competing in Bollywood - if Kajal has Akshay Kumar's next, Tamanaah has Himmatwala with Ajay Devgn.
Meanwhile, Amala Paul, who many feel is just the flavour of the season, recently put to rest rumours that she was asking for 1 crore per film. Her ask is said to be between 40-50 lakh per Telugu film. Though she may not be getting as much in Tamil, her success on-screen has definitely had people take notice of her. But whether she'll make it to the next level remains to be seen.

Samantha out of ‘Kadal'

Looks like actor Samantha is facing a problem of plenty and that seems to have cost her her dream project. Samantha is said to have opted out of director Mani Ratnam's next project “Kadal”. According a source in the unit, “It is still not clear as to whySamantha who was excited about working with Mani Ratnam has chosen to opt out of the project. Since she is doing several big projects in Tamil and Telugu, she may be facing problems with dates. Some of the films she is part of are S. S. Rajamouli's “Naan Ee”, Gautham Menon's “Neethane En Pon Vasantham”, “Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu” and an untitled project with Nandini Reddy in which Siddharth plays the lead. “Kadal” is one of the most eagerly awaited films of the year and a considerable portion of it has already been completed. The next big question is who replace Samantha? May be Karthika's sister?

Samantha to work with Karthi in "Biriyani"?-times of india

Actress Samantha is now the most sought after actress in Tollywood and Kollywood. And the fresh buzz in the tinsel town is that the lucky mascot is likely to play the female lead in Karthi's next's film "Biriyani" to be directed by Venkat Prabhu. Reports say that the director is planning to bring this pair for a romantic comedy titled "Biryani". However, the cute actress is yet to give the green signal for Venkat Prabhu.
"Biriyani" it tipped to be a bilingual film to be shot in Telugu and Tamil simultaneously. As such, director Venkat is looking for a familiar face that can lure the audience in both the languages. Samantha is already busy for more than half a dozen films in Telugu and Tamil and, the crew of "Biriyani" needs to wait for some time to get her nod. The film will have music by Yuvan Shankar Raja while Sakthi Saravanan wields the camera.

'இங்கி பிங்கி பாங்கி' போட்டு ஷங்கர் படத்தை தேர்வு செய்த சமந்தா!!

ஒரே நேரத்தில் ஷங்கர், மணிரத்னம் என இரு பெரிய இயக்குநர்களிடமிருந்து வாய்ப்பு. இரண்டிலுமே நடிக்க ஆசை இருந்ததால் ஒப்புக் கொண்ட சமந்தாவுக்கு, இருவருமே தன் மொத்த கால்ஷீட்டையும் வருடக் கணக்கில் குத்தகைக்கு கேட்க, திகைத்துப் போனார்.

சரி, இருவரில் யார் படம் பெஸ்ட்...? என்ற கேள்வி எழ, வீட்டில் உட்கார்ந்து இங்கி பிங்கி பாங்கி... போட்டுப் பார்க்க, அதில் ஷங்கர் படம் ஓகே என்று வர, முதலில் நடிக்க ஒப்புக் கொண்டு சில தினங்கள் நடித்த பிறகு, என்னால் டேட்ஸ் தர முடியல சார் என மணிரத்னத்திடம் சொல்லிக் கொண்டு வந்துவிட்டாராம்.

மணிரத்னம் படத்தை விட, ஷங்கர் படத்தில் நடிப்பதுதான் தன் கேரியரை உச்சத்தில் நிறுத்தும் என்பது சமந்தாவுக்கு நன்கு புரிந்துவிட்டதும் இந்த முடிவுக்கு ஒரு முக்கிய காரணமாம். தனது மொத்த கால்ஷீட்டையும் இப்போது ஷங்கர் படத்துக்கே கொடுத்துவிட்டாராம்.

ஆனால், மணிரத்னம் தரப்போ, ஹீரோவை விட சமந்தா முதிர்ச்சியடைந்த தோற்றத்தில் இருந்ததால் வேண்டாம் என்று சொல்லிவிட்டதாக செய்தி பரப்ப கடுப்பிலிருக்கிறார் அம்மணி.

'எது எனக்கு நல்லது என்று பட்டதோ அந்த முடிவை எடுத்தேன். அதற்காக என் வயது, தோற்றம் குறித்தெல்லாம் பேசி டேமேஜ் பண்ணுவது டூ மச்,' என பொங்குகிறார் சமந்தா.

Ace director S.S.Rajamouli’s ‘Eega’ has completed its censor formalities and the movie has been awarded with a U/A Certificate. There are no cuts in the film and U/A is also only due to a few smoking scenes in the movie. The news has been confirmed by Rajamouli himself on Twitter.
This should bring the curtains down on the debate regarding the film’s release. The movie will now hit the screens without any further delay on the 6th of July and the film will see a massive release in Andhra Pradesh and around the world. Samantha, Nani and Sudeep are playing the lead roles in this revenge drama and M.M.Keeravani has scored the music. The film has been produced by Sai Korrapatti.

lengthy film - 2 hrs 50 mins..
Kajal is the heroine & Samantha is 2nd heroine..
kajal's characterisation is mostly gloomy & crying..
but Sam darling gives more than what we need in short screen time.. expressions, cuteness, dance performance, acting sentiment scenes.. like this, everything...
the song i posted 2 days back is a treat for both kajal fans & us (Samantha fans).. love it..

in tamil, it will suit for any telugu remake hero.. film is more or less like dhanush's Uthamaputhiram (i know it is also a telugu remake)..

& vinod, the rain dance pics that you lined from idlebrain is from this film.. but it was not shown like in those pics.. it goes within few secs.. & few more pics we see in modern dress / jeans shirt.. all from this film.. i think it was released in 2010..

There are unconfirmed reports doing the rounds that she has been dropped from Shankar directed I opposite Vikram !

Samantha was recently in the news for all the wrong reasons when she was dropped from Mani Ratnam’s prestigious project Kadal and replaced by Thulasi. The grapevine is abuzz with rumours that Shankar is now looking for a new heroine and is also speaking to few top Bollywood girls.

When contacted, a very close friend of Samantha on conditions of anonymity said:“Samantha is undergoing skin treatment for acne and has been advised to avoid sunlight and harsh lights for atleast three months. It was in these circumstances that she walked out of Kadal which required her to shoot for 30 days continuously on the beaches. Samantha whose skin is plagued by acne is undergoing treatment with a leading dermatologist for peels and antibiotics and soon she will be fine”.

Shankar who is away in China finalising locations for I, plans to start the shoot by July second week. Normally Shankar always starts his film with a song sequence. AR Rahman has already composed a song which was planned to be shot on Vikram and Samantha in an outdoor near Chennai.

Now the big question being asked is whether Samantha will opt out of I, due to her peculiar health condition?

after next week's release of EEGA / NAN E..
there will be promotional shows in TV.. esp. Vijay.. & we can see if Samantha attends the shows & confirm whether she has any major health issues which cannot be cured... i don't believe so & also the advancement in medical sciences will make it look easy..

Samantha darling, take rest as advised for 3 months.. already u r into 5th year of your career.. so, you can act for another 3 to 5 yrs :)

let's consider Shankar..
- none of his heroines made it big in TFI
- Aishwarya Rai is the only exception, she had the ulaga azhagi tag & she went to Bollywood
- considering the heroes, when he join hands with really big stars, its a win-win situation for both.. if it is not so big / lesser known stars.. its a win for Shankar & not for the actor.. it helps just to fill their resume.. eg: prabhu deva, prashanth, vikram, Arjun.

now, let's consider Maniratnam..
- post 1990, more or less same case like Shankar
- both work with more or less same actors..

as far as Samantha is considered, i can advise her a highly rated director is not a must to give a successful career... believe me Sam.. i'm saying this.. & I'm a fan of one who was not helped by any brands to have a successful career..

Samantha has lost very prestigious films (Manirathnam's and Shankar's) down South to other actresses but she scored a big film in Bollywood. Sources informed us that Samantha has bagged an author-backed role in a new Hindi film to be directed by current 'hotshot' director Prabhu Deva.

This is going to be Prabhu Deva's next Hindi film after his recent blockbuster Rowdy Rathore.

Buzz is that Prabhu Deva is remaking his first directorial venture, Nuvvostanante Nenoddanta, (2005),into Hindi and Samantha has been roped in to play the role of Siri, originally played by Trisha.

Samanatha who is currently undergoing treatment for a skin ailment would be joining the shoot of this movie later this year.
