தனது மனைவி வேறு யாரிடமும் போய் விடக் கூடாது என்பதற்காக அவரது மர்ம உறுப்பில் பூட்டுப் போட்டு பூட்டி வைத்திருந்தார் ஒரு கணவன். அந்த மிருக குணம் படைத்த நபரை போலீஸார் கைது செய்து வழக்குத் தொடர்ந்துள்ளனர். முட்டாள்தனத்திற்கும், மூடத்தனத்திற்கும் அளவே இல்லாமல் போய் விட்டது. இந்தூரைச் சேர்ந்த ஒரு மெக்கானிக், தனது மனைவி வேறு ஆணுடன் சேர்ந்து விடக் கூடாது என்பதற்காக அவரது மர்ம உறுப்பில் பூட்டுப் போட்டு பூட்டி வைத்துள்ளார். கடந்த நான்கு வருடமாக இந்த சித்திரவதையை அவர் செய்து வந்துள்ளார்.
இந்த மெக்கானிக்குக்கு கல்யாணமாகி 19 வருடங்களாகிறது. ஐந்து குழந்தைகள் உள்ளனர். நான்கு வருடங்களுக்கு முன்பு தனது மனைவியின் மர்ம உறுப்புக்கு அருகே துளை போட்டுள்ளார். பின்னர் தான் வெளியே போகும் போதெல்லாம் ஒரு பூட்டைப் பொருத்தி பூட்டி, சாவியை எடுத்துக் கொண்டு போய் விடுவாராம். இதனால் அந்தப் பரிதாபத்துக்குரிய பெண் சித்திரவதையையும், நரக வேதனையையும் அனுபவித்துள்ளார். சிறுநீர் கழிப்பதில் கூட அவருக்குப் பெரும் சிரமம் ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது. இந்த நரக வேதனையைப் பொறுக்க முடியாமல் தற்கொலை செய்ய முடிவெடுத்த அவர் எலிக்கு வைக்கும் விஷத்தை எடுத்து சாப்பிட்டு விட்டார்.
உடனடியாக அவரை மருத்துவமனைக்குக் கொண்டு சென்றனர். அப்போதுதான் அவரது மர்ம உறுப்பைச் சுற்றி பூட்டு போடப்பட்டிருப்பதை டாக்டர்கள் பார்த்து அதிர்ச்சி அடைந்தனர். இதையடுத்து போலீஸாருக்குத் தகவல் போனது. போலீஸார் விரைந்து வந்து விசாரணை நடத்தினர். பின்னர் அந்த முட்டாள் நபரை கைது செய்தனர்.
