Dear friends, now is the season for cranberry in US.
They usually make a dish for THANKSGIVING DAY.
Our friend Sangeetha has made the cranberry thokku for us.
Enjoy, Kugan
CRANBERRY THOKKU
Ingredients:
¼ cup gingelly oil
½ tsp mustard seeds
350 grms cleaned cranberry, ground to coarse paste without adding water
2 tsp chilli powder
¼ tsp turmeric powder
2 tsp salt
½ tsp asafetida powder
¼ tsp roasted and powdered funugreek seeds
2 tsp jiggery
Method:
Heat a non stick pan with the oil.
Add in the mustard seeds and allow to splutter.
Now add in the ground cranberry paste, chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt.
On slow flame keep on stirring, continuously, till the oil separates.
Now add in the asafetida powder, funugreek powder and the jiggery.
Stir well for another minute and remove from heat.
