Can "Thillu mullu thillu mullu" be classified as the best ever comedy classic ? Or is it Kadhalika nEramillai?
Both are from different generations, but I feel TM is slightly above KN mainly because of Rajni factor (esp his dialogue delivery and comedy timing)

But many still regard KN as the greatest. I only liked the songs from KN, esp Viswanathan vElai vendum. But TN was laugh riot. Esp like you mentioned all the Coconut and Rajni encounters!Quote:

TM was a great movie. But the laughter riot does not sustain itself through the full movie and becomes forced. The novelty was really Rajini and the weight of the superb Thengai. KN was of a different era. Balaiah provides the humor. Nagesh tries to. Can watch anytime.

(Havent seen Golmaal recently, just once in DD, 10 or so years ago) Screenplay is about 80% the same. Few characters go missing in the thamizh version / climax is different etc. Dialogues undoubtedly thamizh version is better. Really hilarious. And you won't believe how good the Hindi thengai was (Utpal Dutt). But the Rajini factor, dialogues and the songs make thamizh version vastly better.Quote:

Thengai besht - Kaase Dhaan Kadavaulada. The jokes were bounced off him rather than him being the protagonist of the humour but what fun! Chitralaya Gopu - King of TF comedy(KN, KDK, Veettukku Veedu(whose remake Visu-Ramu is much slaagichufied by youth generation))
