Cook's dropped by ishanth of his own bowling. Umpteenth time I am seeing him doing this.
Up until this series I never thought Cook could deliver big in the sub continent, he has proved me wrong and how :sigh2:
For me at this moment he's the best batsman in the world (Tests), Clarke definitely has had an incredible year but he is nowhere near as consistent as Cook
Actually I was kinda disappointed with his performance against SA.
He played quite well against Pakistan and Sri Lanka. And he played well last time too. He was primed to do well. Only the extent is a surprise, and a pleasant on at that.
India should lose this series. Then only some drastic steps can be taken. Uncle Sachin Sir should retire unless he has some other plans to play along with his son . Also, the endorsements, sponsorers are likely to move away. So, brand Sachin Sir is diminishing. He should take a call now, ask his own self, doing a justice by blocking the way of some prospect ? . Dhoni should be sacked . Even if India manages to salvage in Nagpur, this is a below par performance . Replace the openers. Sack Gautam , push Viru to Down 2 , in place of Sachin. Bring Ajinkya as opener and try Vijay . Stop IPL money making business.
Trott's gone. Will be interesting to see KP against Ojha.
Arvind, from what I've noticed regarding Clarke's career so far is he tends to get his big scores in a cluster, he had a exceptional series against India and SA (both home) but I don't think he got a hundred in the Windies. Cook though, has got his runs mostly in the Sub Continent this year and hence my standpoint
Amla has a far better case as the best.. triple and a 2nd innings pressure knock in england and 2 more in australia. the 2nd one was fantastic
 @ viru at 2 down
mr nangarajan rambi - plis to keep coming :notworthy:
India has faced such Match to save scenarios in the past......But they don't have a Dravid d Laxman to fight it out......Can Pujara and Kohli rise up to the occasion and save India's face, much like how Sachin single handedly used to lift a hapless/directionless Azhar-led India in the 1990's?
New coach Duncan Fletcher is the double agent. Get him out of the team - I say :)
England  I wanted Broad and Swann to fail. Happy! No problems with rest of the England team doing well.
Sehwag scored a century in the 1st test. That's enough for now
These things happen in the transition phase. Every team including Australia suffered that. All are concerned only about Sachin. As if Dravid/Laxman/Ganguly replacements are in great touch and only Sachin is spoiling the party :banghead: For the first time I think the whole team is out of form. We never speak about bowling department, do we? Zaheer ellam enna panraar-ney therila? Ashwin is another comedy piece.
I am not talking only about this series, our previous tours to England, Australia as well.
Btw pitch was not flat, at least in the second match. Monty/Swann was enjoying the turn.
Jonathan Agnew ✔ @Aggerscricket
Just seen replay of Monty's dismissal...certainly hit it...but his response will probably earn him a date with the ref later
Finally a good session for india, thanks to the dropped catches.
India gifting wickets away here...
What has happened to this team? Missing RD and VVS is quite understandable but to this extent? Well and truly the last series for MS as a test captain I believe. :(
Something seriously wrong here with the team. This has to be one of the worst ever slides that I 've seen. If India loses the series, guess we will see the exit of both Dhoni and SRT. Has been an absolutely torturous series for us.
Never thought I would see this day :sigh2: time for one of the openers to go, its not about their technique for me, its about the attitude which has been poor. Yuvi can also go back to domestic cricket and come back fitter.. Wrt bowling I don't see anyone in the domestic circle capable of replacing this spin duo..
This is just depressing :sigh2:
How can we win the series when players are playing for themselves instead
of the country. We have to bring in new players and axe the non performers.

Given Sachin's slide (and Dravitt,Laxman exeunt) this isn't even surprising.
Something I have notionally felt - and have been pilloried for saying - India never felt like a world number one side. Ever.
Felt - operative word. Subjective opinion. Will evaporate in the face of statistics. Reflective of personal biases. Or what have you.
I am so glad England has bounced back in the subcontinent. They looked pretty bad in Dubai.
I am still quite disappointed with the way they crumbled against S Africa. Ashes will be interesting.
Cook tried to emulate Sehwag :lol2:
History created by England. Don't think they aren such a great team. But still India managed to lose this match.
When your No.8 batsman scores 90+, you can't blame your bowlers. Can you?
I don't think India will win in Nagpur. Will Nagpur damage Dhoni like what it did to Ganguly? Let us wait and see.
He played like shit against Pakistan this year. Even in the home series against Pak in 2010 he had lesser clue against Amir & Asif managing a 110 and scores of 8,12,17,4,6 and 10. Now that was quality bowling. Even against SL Pietersen saved England.
176,122 and 190.. Minnow bashing at its best surpassing Kallis standards.
Don't troll me saying your side was a 1 .
top players are sponsored by corporates-corporates are controlling selection
why can't we have age limit, score target, wicket targets.
IPL has spoiled the quality of indian cricket-
other teams have special players for each form of cricket.
day will come-the non-performing players will be forced to go out.-rahu Dasai

next Dhoni ?
We are overreacting with respect to team's performance. We were below par average with Dravid/Laxman in the past two years and without them I think this is expected.
But my question is we have Sehwag, Kohli, Y.Singh or even Sachin as part time bowlers. Why that Dhoni uses only the main bowlers when they could not take any wickets? I remember Kumble was using Sehwag frequently in Australia. Spin bowlers delivering 40 overs each without taking any wickets and you don't try with your part timers, something is seriously wrong with Dhoni!
Lost 2-0 @ home to SA. Cleanly whitewashed in Dubai. Managed to scrape a draw in SL with the absence of Murali. Sorry Case closed.
Fundamental disagreement. No way in hell. Let's see if you can scrape at-least a draw in SA this time like India did against a solid SA @ their home. Ithupona Australiava adichupottu pechai paaru.

I expected India would be pummeled and shown their place in England.
Honestly, I didn't expect England would win India. I expected Swann/Monty to do well but I expected they (except Cook) would struggle against spin like they did vs. Pak and SL. They seem to have pulled their game up aided ably by crappy bowling from India (ellAm sollakkELvi dhaan). Delightful either way. :-)

Sure SA is the best team in the world now. And Aus is getting better. This Ashes will be very very interesting!!
The point I am harping is the deep annoyance I felt when people were surprised (many genuinely were) when India lost in Eng last year. "So you really thought you were No.1 and have not been following England's rise?" - is a question I can't ask enough. thaniyA romba pulamba vittAinga. OnAyA irundhu pArthA dhaan... Anyway, past is past. Nagpur chalo! I want England to make the most out of India's listlessness.
It was heartening to read Trott scoring after a while. It would be good if Bell gets a few runs in Nagpur.
