TOI says IR is indeed singing VM's lyrics and not Dhanush's lyrics. Not sure which news to believe!!

"...Talking about the development, the film's director Seenuramasamy says, "After 28 years, Raaja sir has agreed to sing the lyrics of Kaviperarasu. The last song which Ilaiyaraaja had sung with Vairamuthu's lyrics was apparently Adi Aathaadi from the 1986 film Kadalora Kavithaigal. When I requested Raaja sir, he agreed mainly because I'm also a devotee of Ramana Maharishi, whom he follows. I should also thank Yuvan for making this possible."

Some sections of the media had wrongly reported that Ilaiyaraaja will be singing a song written by Dhanush but the director clarifies that it will be Vairamuthu's lyrics that the Isaignani will be singing. "It will be an 'amma' song and Vairamuthu sir is still finalizing the lines. We will be recording the song soon," he adds...."

The below seems to be the latest on the yes / no situation:

"Over the last 3 days, there have been news reporting, Ilayaraja has said no/yes to croon a song for Vairamuthu's lyrics. We at Indiaglitz wants to clear the air and personally contacted director, Seenu Ramasamy to know the exact situation. The 'Thenmerku Paruvakaatru' director said that, Vairamuthu has penned 5 songs for the film and one of them is about mother's love. He expressed his wish to Yuvan by saying, this song would become more powerful if, Ilayaraja agrees to croon it....Yuvan is yet to compose tunes for all the 5 songs have taken the request from the director and passed the same to his dad. This is the recent news from the director itself. So, the snippets regarding the reunion of legendary composer and lyricist has got a comma as of now. The entire industry and music lovers will be happy if these two brilliant people come together once again. The ball is on Ilayaraja's court now..."

Raja sir is surrounded by wrong people and motivating Raja sir to not join hands with VM again. The wordings from IFCG is an example for that. Even if Raja sir want to, people around him wont let this happen, so lets enjoy the 80s classics of Raja-VM for the rest of our lives.

I also felt the same until some years back. But later point of time, I see Raja personally tries to avoid VM as much as possible. VM on the other side, trying to take advantage of Raja's continuous silence and non-media friendly approach. Over the years, market also becoming dull for VM as ARR not involving much Tamil projects or ARR associating with other lyricists. So, VM needs a break badly to reassure his place. VM's close circles are ( KB, MR, BR etc) also not into active movie making. So, everything matters. You have to look at the other side of the coin. If Raja associates with VM, then VM will hold the mike everywhere and trying to exploit the media by projecting he is the savior of Raja's legacy back. And Raja does not want such. Raja-VM association is not something that brewing in recent years. The attempts by other common friends of them went in vain and that proves again and again Raja never ever wants to collaborate anymore with VM.

ஆனால், வார்த்தைகளை சரியாய் பயன்படுத்துபவர். கெட்டிகாரர். கிடைத்தை தோணியில், எப்படியாவது கரை ஏறுபவர். அவர் எழுதிய புத்தகங்களை நான் படித்தது இல்லை. ஆனால் எழுதிய பாடல்களை கூர்ந்து கேட்டிருக்கின்றேன். அவை ஒவ்வொன்றும் முத்தானவை தான்.


ராஜா சாரின் இசை அமைத்த பாடல்களில் சோப்பு, சீப்பு, வழுக்கை தலை, மண்ணெண்ணெய் டப்பா என்றெல்லாம் வார்த்தைகள் வந்திருந்த நிலையில், அதே ராஜா சார் இசையில் வார்த்தை ஜாலங்களை அள்ளி தெளித்து பல நூறு பாடல்களை இன்னும் நம் மனதில் விதைத்த வைரமுத்து எந்த விதத்தில் தீண்டத்தகாதவராய் ஆகிவிட்டார்?


வைரமுத்துக்கு வாய் பெரிது. ஆனால் அது யாருக்கு தான் இல்லை? கங்கை அமரனுக்கு இல்லையா? வாலியின் முதலாம் ஆண்டு நினைவு நிகழ்ச்சியில் அவருடைய பேச்சு சுவராசியமாய் இருந்தாலும், ராஜா சாரை பற்றி பேசும் பொது முகம் சுளிக்க வைத்ததே? உடன்பிறப்பே உளறும்போது, யார் பேசினால் என்ன?


ராஜ சார் இனிமேல் தன்னை நிரூபிக்க வேண்டியதில்லை. தனிமை தவத்தை கலைத்து, சகஜமாய் அறிவு தீனியூட்டும் நண்பர்கள் அமைத்து, தன் ரஜகததுதிபாடிகளை விலக்கிவைத்துவிட்டு, திறமைசாலிகளையும், புது வரவுகளையும், வெளி மாநிலத்து, வெளி நாட்டு இசை வல்லுனர்களுடனும் சேர்ந்து இசை விருந்து படைக்க வேண்டும் என்பதே என் ஆவல், அவருக்கான அறிவுரை அல்ல.

பாடல் எழுதுவதை மட்டுமே கணக்கில் எடுத்துக் கொண்டால் கூட வைரமுத்துவின் சொற்கட்டுமானங்கள் ராஜா அங்கிகரிக்கும் பாணியைவிட வேறுபட்டது. ஒத்துப் போவது கடினமான செயல்.

"ராஜா சார் இனிமேல் தன்னை நிரூபிக்க வேண்டியதில்லை!" - இதை 20, 25ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பு சொன்னாலும் பொருந்தும்.

இருவருமே சேரவில்லைதான் என்றாலும் என்ன இப்ப ???? ( எல்லோரும் மாத்தி யோசிக்கும் பொழுது நாம் கொஞ்சம் நேராக யோசிப்போமே) காலங்களும் மாறி காட்சிகளும் மாறிவிட்ட இந்த சூழ்நிலையில் இருவரும் இணைந்தாலும் பழைய "Spark" வருமா என்பது சந்தேகம்தான். இருவருமே அவரவர் fieldல் உச்சம் தொட்ட பின் இது ஒரு வேண்டாத வேலைதான். யாருக்கும் எதயும் நீருபிக்க வேண்டிய கட்டயாத்தில் இருவருமே இல்லை. அவர்கள் இருவருற்குள்ளும் நடந்தது இருவர் மட்டுமே அறிந்தது. வை மு இதை பற்றி வெளியில் பேசுவதும், ராஜா இதை முற்றிலும் தவிர்ப்பதும் ......ராஜா எவ்வளவு தூரம் மனதில் காயம் பட்டுள்ளார் என்பதை சொல்லும். ஒருவன், அடுத்தவன் மண்டையை உடைத்து அசிங்கம்மான மனதை புண் படுத்த கூடிய வார்த்தையும் சொல்லிவிட்டு, காலபோக்கில் உறவாட வந்தால் ....வெளியில் பட்ட காயம் ஆறி இருக்கலாம்...நாவினால் சுட்ட வடு. இருவரும் சேராமல் இருப்பதே ராஜாவுக்கு நல்லது. அது ஒரு அரசியல் தெரியாத மக்கு.

வை மூ, ராஜாவை விட நல்லவர் வல்லவர் நாலும் தெரிந்தவர் என்று சொல்பவர்களுக்கு .ஆம், அது உண்மைதான். இல்லை என்றால் 6 முறை தேசிய விருது, எதாவது ஒரு இடத்தில் வந்து பேச வேண்டும் என்றால் " கள்ளிகாட்டு இதிகாசம்" 500 புத்தகங்கள் வாங்க வேண்டும் என்ற நிபந்தனை .....
