As Ramesh Aravind is directing Kamal Haasan in Uttama Villain many have thought that the film will be like Panchathanthiram. In a recent media interaction Ramesh Aravind has said that Uttama Villain's first and second half will be completely different level, Kamal's acting has taken the film to all new level and the last ten minutes of the film will awe-struck the audience.

Uttama Villain has Kamal, Nassar, Parvathy Menon, Pooja Kumar, Jayaram, Oorvasi, Andrea, K Balchander and many to its star cast. Directed by Ramesh Aravind, the film has music by Ghibran.

Uttama Villain will be released on October.

Glad that Ramesh didn't pull a KSR and started blabbing about 5thanthiram maadhiri kathai this and that. That's what spoiled MMA expectations.

Still wondering why Sir is wasting time on Drishyam remake. Telugu remake released today in TN it seems. And most people who enjoy Malayalam movies would've seen it's malayalam original during theatrical time and when it's english subtitle print released on the web.

    Thats what I also feel.
Thalaivar has always been a Pan-Indian or at least a Pan South Indian star. Tamil version of his movies get released on the same day in Kerala and do well. Telugu dubbed movies get an equally big opening in Andhra. Both Tamil and Telugu versions are released in Karnataka and Bangalore has never let him down. This is going to work really well for Utthama Villian as Ramesh Aravind is also a popular figure there. But by remaking a movie which was already made in other 3 languages and watched by audiences, why is he restricting himself this time, to TN market alone? I can understand if this movie is targeted at B and C centers of TN but that will not be the case for any KH movie. Earlier, he did the same with Munnabhai which was also remade thrice. But when Vasool Raja released, it was the first remake & did better than Shankardada and Uppidada. The last of the remakes, Uppidada flopped. If he is also planning to do the Hindi version of Drishyam, it is understandable. The reach will be much bigger. Being a low budget movie, he would not have any issue recovering the budget.

You guys may feel that since you've seen the original. When Vasool Raja was released, many who had seen Munnabhai said original was a lot better. But I didnt see Munnabhai and liked UN and the team in Vasool Raja. I have no intentions of watching Drishyam and many-many may not as well esp. when KH is gonna do it. Since KH decided to do the remake, he must have felt its worth his time. After all nobody could have forced him to do it unless he was for it. Which of his remakes flopped ? Most if not all his remakes were successful and entertaining including UPO atleast on ROI. So lets be optimistic about this ...

Diwali Release ? How many big releases are coming up that time ? Looks like Vijay may have one.

''Last day of one magical journey'' with Kamal Haasan

The shoot for Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan's Uttama Villain has been wrapped up (on the 9th of August). And, the team has begun the post production and VFX works. Well, looks like the Diwali release plans for Uttama Villain are definitely on.

Ramesh Arvind, the director, terms it as the "last day of one magical journey."

Uttama Villain has an ensemble cast that includes Andrea Jeremiah, Pooja Kumar, Jayaram, Nassar, Parvathi, Parvathy Nair, Urvashi, K Balachander, K Viswanath, MS Bhaskar, Chithra Lakshmanan and others. The movie has Ghibran's music.

I liked both but Munnabhai gets a slight edge because the father-son dialogues had meta commentary. Sanjay dutt at that time was going through a rough patch and those scenes with his father while confronting against the villain doctor worked big time. Real life father son portrayal was what gave hindi original the edge.

The comedy in the tamil remake was funnier though. Especially Crazy Mohan-kH scenes.

Yes. KH is perfect for Hindi remake. Seekirama athu paanikarlam and within 5-6 mos, he could start his next project.
