In some other language groups:
Sometimes : (child name) (mother's surname) (father's surname) > becomes child's full name.
Among the Chinese, (surname) ( generation name) (child name)
for example
Chow Eng Lai
Chow Eng Hwai
Chow Eng Tai
Chow Eng Moy (a girl)
Chow Eng Loy
where Eng is generation name.
Chinese emperors seem to have introduced quite a lot of order in names and other things for their people.
