kugan: You are welcome ! We were shopping in a natural/organic food store and I saw date-coconut-nut (almond) rolls. I thought that a softer date-coconut-almond roll would become date halwa! Then came Vinayaka Chathurthi. The rolls minced became pooraNam!
They make date halwa in North India using shredded almonds and dates ( From a cookbook I browsed yesterday in a book store.)
