There were problems in terms of finance for VV, but it was not a low budget movie. Good amount of money was spent for shooting in US and it was very much visible as well. The initial producer Khaja taken lot of money on loan and that also was a big problem, some how 7th channel Manickam Narayanan took over and cleared the debts. In the end it was a very profitable venture.

Yeah but in this interview he specifically said the budget given to him by the new producer was limited (slightly more than Kaaka Kaaka) and he managed to complete the movie with it. I don't remember where I read it.
