OTOH, the word Hinduism was attributed to a collection of various belief systems prevalent on the other side of the Sindh river - dvaitam, advaitam, vedantam, jainism, buddhism (and its derivatives in china and elsewhere) came from a polytheistic culture constantly evolving.
again the understanding here is completely wrong on hinduism. hinduism is a generic coined word and corrupted form by the westerners though it is true that it has been coined based on the people's tradition and culture and way of life living in the region of Sindhu river....but the way of life was very prevalent in most parts of india i.e. bharatham
jainism and budhism are totally different from so called hinduism defined....
hinduism might have different braches but it certainly is not polytheistic culture in general....but the ways of life of different communities in hinduism is clearly visible...
