Thedi Vantha Devadhai from Ponnar Shankar
The synth/electronica usage in the prelude is right up my street. The rendition paints a very tipsy scene. The second interlude sees Raja Saab doing a Yuvan but the folk beats keep the sound very Raja-ish to the core. Annanmar Kathai stubbornly didn’t give me chances to listen to any other numbers. But I guess it’s better late than never haha. This composition explores the best of both worlds i.e. synth and folk elements respectively and compared to Raaja Saab’s recent releases this gets the biggest
for tackling experimentation with full throttle. The song might not have many takers due to the mishmash of sounds, but for me this truly is highly inspirational. I feel it’s ahead of its time yet equally delivers a vivid rural feel.
