Sanjay meets Rajini

When Sanjay Dutt came down to Chennai to shoot for his Hindi film with director K S Ravikumar, he not only celebrated Pongal in true Tamil style, but also met up with Superstar Rajinikanth.
Says K S Ravikumar, "When we were shooting in Chennai for Police Giri, Sanjay had told me that he wanted to catch up with Rajini. We went to his place for tea, and he welcomed us with a bouquet. Rajini's family was also present with him. Rajini enquired about how our film was shaping up and spoke in general about the film industry. Sanjay narrated an incident that occurred when he and Rajini were shooting for their Hindi film together in Ooty. The director had wanted to shoot a scene on the roadside, and when Rajini and Sanjay stepped out, a huge crowd gathered. That day, Sanjay had to become Rajini's bodyguard, and he admitted Rajini's mass appeal had him stunned!"

The market is abuzz as a leading financial daily has reported that Superstar Rajinikanth’s next film will be directed by KV Anand for producers Eros International.

Kamal Jain, group chief financial officer—India, Eros International Media is quoted as saying - “We have already signed the deal for Rajinikanth's third movie (after Kochadaiyaan and Rana—both under production). This film will be made by KV Anand of Ko fame. The name of the film is yet to be decided.”

Remember Eros is in the process of completing Rajinikanth’s Soundarya Rajinikanth directed Kochadaiyaan, which is being shot using motion capture technology and is slated for release in the first quarter of fiscal 2014.

Rajinikanth had a sneaking admiration for KV Anand from his Sivaji days. Rajini was impressed by Anand’s shot composition as a cinematographer in the Shankar directed Sivaji. Two of Anand’s films Ayan and Ko also was liked by the superstar for its right mixture of commercial ingredients with the story.

They have been in discussion for the last six months on the script of the film. Anand had kept his meetings with the superstar a top secret and in fact threw the media off the scent by hinting of doing a film with Vijay.
