Dear MGR Roop,

When I bumped into Gandhi Kannadhasan (he is known to me) by accident in the New Booklands Store, T.Nagar, Chennai he told me that his publications (Kannadhasan Pathipagam) will be printing and releasing this book but I was a bit skeptical. I pointed out to him that even the original publishers, Vikatan Publications, had this idea of collating and publishing as a book on the serials 'Nan Yean Pitanthaen' which appeared in Ananda Vikatan in 1972. But owing to ownership issues of MGR's estate it was not legally feasible hence they dropped the idea. But Gandhi told me that he managed to resolve the ownership rights and that he is in the process of publishing it. He even further related the reasons for taking the decision to publish it. Just a few excerpts on what MGR had written was enough to inspire him. He reckoned that MGR is a seer, just like his father Kaviarasar Kannadhasan. The many philosophies espoused in his writings were far-sighted and still relevant to present days. It was as though he was reading the works of a sidebar, he concluded.

I wished him well and took leave and almost forgot about this ambitious project of Gandhi's until I saw your posting just now. I am equally anxious to get hold of a copy probably when I fly into Chennai in the middle of this month.
