The film got a good opening in Kerala grossing 1.12 crores on its first day from around 120 screens.[70] The film ran in kerala box office beating Chennai Express and five malayalam releases.[71] The Telugu version of the film "Anna" totally grossed 2.5 crores in Andhra Pradesh. In karnataka the film grossed about 5.7 crores with the distributor’s share being 2.7 crores.[72]
In Chennai, after having a delayed release in Tamil Nadu, the film got a very good opening by fetching 4.22 crores in the first weekend.[73] In Malaysia, the film overall grossed $1,202,959 (7.8 crores).[74]
Overall, the producer had suffered a loss of approximately 15 crore following the late release of the film. Operators have renegotiated contracts and the film was sold at 60% of its initial sales amount. Pirated DVDs and mixed critics did lose 40% of the value of the film and even with this rebate operators fear a significant loss because of this film. But the film has made up the losses now thanks to good response from audience from Tamil Nadu and Rest of India[75]
